#UsNavy boot camp in the country, she is GREAT LAKES 🇺🇸✨ Interview for the opportunity of a lifetime— complete!! Completed my interview in front of the esteemed panel of judges for MISS IL USA!! This process has been so surreal, I truly never thought I’d get the opportunity to interview for the
#missusa system again & 4.5 years later im back one last time chasing my dreams.
In just 3 minutes, I shared with the judges how I
#DOBOTH as a Naval Officer & mutli-passionate woman & how my social media platform began. I explained my journey as a motivational speaker & why it’s important for me to be both an in-person & virtual mentor to others, inspiring them to “take command of their lives,” not be limited by the stereotypes society places on them & to set their own path.
For many, when you think “pageants” all you can imagine is parading around in a pretty gown. I challenge you to dig deeper, to imagine a competition full of so much self-reflection you’re continually digging to find ways to self-improve as well as celebrate your growth. My 5 years competing were spent with mentors, doing mock interviews, meeting with businesses over coffee, doing motivational speeches, finding my personal “brand,” and also dissecting what made me different than everyone else, why, & HOW I would celebrate that on stage.
I owe a lot of that self-reflection & discovery to my mental coach,
