I’m so proud to have been part of the Hershey Company’s first annual Juneteenth event. This event was about bringing our community together through black heritage music, food and education. I enjoyed incorporating my music side & my business side to curate the musical talent, live painter and black owned food trucks and overall event production. (Resume going UPPP, okay!!) Shout out to @keyzdadon for consulting on this event.
@ hersheys partnered with various talented Black artist across the globe and featured their art on exclusive Juneteenth candy wrappers. You can find the limited edition candy at a @ target near you!

The event hosted 700 onsite employees and was live streamed to over 6,000 global employees. Our CEO had a fire side chat with Erik Moses, NASCAR’s first Black President!
It’s important that companies celebrate historical moments like Juneteenth in a meaningful way.

I’m grateful for nights likes this. I’m blessed to share once in a lifetime experiences with amazing friends. I always have the best time with Maya. She’s undeniably special. So proud of you girl. I haven’t written music in over a year. After the show, Maya walked into the room backstage screaming “ Lanna is a dope songwriter!!”🥹 I proceeded to play some of my demos. I got to fellowship with dope musicians who appreciated and applauded my music and talent. I needed this night. It rejuvenated me. Maya, thank you for supporting me whenever we’re in music spaces. It’s important to have female friends who want you to shine too.

Ohh, the places I’ll go this year. Starting my year off in London was an unexpected and exciting surprise. I’m glad I said yes to this spontaneous invite ☺️
In 2024 I will be more intentional with my time by spending it doing things that bring me joy, peace and growth, with people that cherish my company. I hope we all have exciting and fulfilling adventures this year. I challenge all of us to go where we are celebrated, not tolerated.

Birthdays are a blessing. Not everyone gets to see the next one. I’m grateful for my family, my friends who are like family, strangers who’ve treated me like a friend, and for those who left. These moments and experiences each hold their own significance in the journey to who we are today, and who we ultimately decide to become.
If you’ve ever consoled, encouraged, included, considered, supported, or showed up for me. Thank you. Your tenderness, in whatever capacity gets me through the year. I have so much joy in my heart, excitement in my soul, plans in my head. I’m ready for this new chapter in my journey.
