Spent day fishing with my family today! We were headed to the beach but it was sooo crowded, so we went where there are less idiots haha!
Caught bait, fished and worked up an appetite. I brought along the @pescavore_seafood tuna dip I made. yummy 🤤

Did you know, Hanging out in nature away from people, you will be less likely to come across idiots!? 🤪🤣
All I know is that I’m like a kid in the candy store out there! so much life, peace and fun being out here ❤️
One and done on the castnet and of course we are not filming! Honestly, I kept my phone in my pocket most of the day, being in the moment! That’s ok! next time! 🥞

What To Know About Peacock Bass!
Fun Facts!
1. Peacock bass are actually members of the cichlid family that are native to the Amazon River Basin of South America.
2. Peacocks are very sensitive to low water temperatures and cannot survive in water temperatures that dip below about 65 degrees. Low water temperatures will cause peacock bass to stop feeding and turn darker in color because of slowed blood flow. This is the perfect species to pursue during South Florida’s hot and humid summer months.
3. These fish prefer to hang out near seawalls, shorelines, and in the weeds along canal edges where they can easily ambush their prey.
4. This species can be targeted with both live bait and artificial lures.
4. Peacock bass are a fairly sturdy fish, so catch and release survival rates are quite high if the fish are handled correctly. They have sandpaper-like mouths similar to that of a largemouth bass, so they can be handled by the lower jaw, using the same thumb-and-finger grip.
These feisty fighters love to take long, strong runs and are a total blast to fight. Florida peacocks have become one of my favorite freshwater targets.

Fun Fact: This is not even a big Goliath Grouper!!!
These fish can grow up to 800lbs! Primarily found in shallow water among coral and reefs. They ambush prey by using their mouths to suck in whole fish or invertebrates, then swallow them right away. 👀
Catching these monsters is always a fun day! Who wants to catch a Goliath Grouper?
