Mo Allen is a proud member of First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles. She served on the First U Board for 3 years from 2021-2023, two years of which she served as the Board Secretary. 🩵 She currently serves as the Board Secretary for Urban Partners Los Angeles, a non-profit offering a food distribution, diaper program, and tutoring program here at our church. 🎭 Mo is an actress having appeared in TV, film and commercials, a creator, a tap dancer, a wife to Tyler and a mom to Josephine Jane.

It’s been a year… With everything going on, posting has felt wrong for me, alien and inadequate. Still, it’s been a full year with beautiful moments, genuine connection, inspiring places - nourishment for my soul (& stomach too!) @firstuula ’s choir wrapped up their 2024 season yesterday with a BEAUTIFUL performance of “Comfort and Joy” by Mari Esabel Valverde, a Trans Latina classical composer. Mari writes incredible music, please go check it out and enjoy her art !
Our choir at First U. continues to grow, bloom, and surpass their perceived limits. LISTEN TO THEIR SOUND ! ! This group is made up of all volunteers who are members of our church community. There are no paid/hired singers in this group, all of them just love to sing and love our community. Working with them and my wonderful colleague Travis, First U.’s Music Director, enriches my life deeply. I’m so grateful for all of them and the moments we co-create and share together.
