YOUTH PARENTS: listen closely 👂🏻 Being just feet from a hard-thrown baseball may seem frightening… But it’s probably because we lack the proper MENTAL TOOLS to combat habits like STEPPING IN THE BUCKET 🪣 This was shot at the content day following the FREE @notyouraveragebaseball camp sponsored by @brucebolt.us . Shoutout @coachvanhook19 and @utamavsbsb for hosting us 🙏🏽 • • • #baseballdrills #hittingdrills #nyabc

How you respond says a lot about you…pick option 1!!! Being disappointed that you didn’t perform like you know you’re capable is understandable. But when you dive into that frustration, it shows. And it brings the teams energy down. Like a vampire 🧛 Trust me, I did this too much growing up. But just chillll out. You’ll have another at bat, and you’ll succeed another time. If someone else in your team succeeds, be pumped for them because they’re your teammate and should be your friend! And they just helped your team out! Don’t get so caught up in a single play. It’ll only negatively affect your next AB’s, pitches, plays in the field 🤷🏻‍♂️ #Baseball #BaseballBoys #BaseballTips #BaseballLife #BaseballPlayer #Softball #MentalCoaching #Mindset #Teammate #Warstic

So this is an umbrella statement, but I think it’s true… Of course there are exceptions of skilled and developed players at age 10. Where they’ve already got the fundamental movements of the swing down…and they can comprehend and control single-arm drills! BUT the majority of youth players are still learning the coordination with a regular swing. I’m usually a fan of isolating movements to achieve a certain feel. But I’ve just seen a lot of youth players struggle to understand but mainly to CONTROL the bat I just think for young players, it causes confusion and discouragement. Again, this can work for youth players, I’m just saying make sure we get the fundamental base of a regular swing before we start isolating movements that work with more detailed objectives/feels If you have any counterpoints or questions, please let me know! Im just sharing my opinion! 🙏🏽 #Baseball #Softball #BaseballMom #BaseballDad #BaseballDrills #BaseballLife #YouthBaseball #BaseballBoys #LittleLeague #teeball #tball

Parents, share and save this. Read below for progression ⬇️ 1) knees. Barehand. Soft ball. Short throws with partner or off wall 2) stand up. Barehand. Soft ball. further 3) glove on. Real ball. Short distance 4) medium distance firmer 5) regular 6) repeat every day until comfortable But biggest tip parents is don’t get frustrated when they move out of the way. This gives players even more anxiety. First it’s about being hit by the ball. Now you’re adding anxiety of disappointment or making them made. This is just a comfort ability thing they need to break through. I would lead with encouragement first 🙏🏽 #baseball #softball #youthsports #youthbaseball #baseballmom #baseballdad #baseballlife #baseballdrills

If you think about it, baseball is a single-leg sport 🤔⬇️ Stride? One leg Pitching? One leg So many youth players make the mistake of thinking that the whole motion is one fast movement. But when you look at major-league pitching, almost every pitcher is very calm and has steady pace in their leg lift. They allow their body time to control their movements so that they get in an optimal position to balance and create power! 💥 Two super important things. And all done particularly with our back leg. Here in having my boy Callen really slow down his motion, trying to learn how to control his body, hold and store power on back leg, and then drive it suddenly towards home plate #Baseball #Pitching #BaseballBoys #YouthBaseball #BaseballDad #BaseballMom #BaseballLife #BaseballPlayer #BaseballPractice #BaseballCoach #PitchingDrills #BaseballDrills
