Introducing a new multi-part video series from Injector Dynamics that covers the technical side of UTV fuel delivery. While the main focus of these videos will be pertaining to UTV’s, these concepts apply to all fuel-injected vehicles. In part one, owner and founder, Paul Yaw takes us to school on UTV fuel rails, the difference between MAP referenced return and returnless systems, and differential pressure. The understanding of this information is crucial when building a fuel injection system the correct way, regardless of the application. Introducing the ID BPC100 - The Single Pump Solution After many years of development and an extended beta testing program, the BPC100 is finally ready for public consumption! The BPC100 mated to the TI Automotive E5LM brushless fuel pump represents a new approach to fueling high power racing engines – providing enough fuel for 2,000+ hp on ethanol at pressures as high as 150 psi from a single pump. The controller maintains a target flow rate, even as operating conditions change. It does so by powering the pump from an internal power supply, making pump flow independent of battery voltage and fuel pressure across a broad operating range. With a max continuous flowrate of 1,100 l/h, this pump replaces most dual and triple pump systems with a simpler, and therefore more robust fuel system. The BPC 100 provides three modes of operation for seamless integration into a wide variety of fuel systems: PWM mode: Flow rate is commanded by a user-defined input signal, from an ECU or a logger/dash with a pulse width modulated (PWM) auxiliary output. MAP mode: Flow rate is based on intake manifold pressure using a dedicated MAP sensor. Constant Flow mode: Flowrate is set via onboard dial. The BPC100 also supports data communication via CAN, relaying the following parameters: System Voltage Current draw Flowrate PWM Duty cycle Operating Temperature MAP Voltage Error Codes The BPC100 is available on it's own, to be used with the TI E5LM pump only. This is helpful for those that already have a fuel system built around this pump, but need increased output. The BPC100 on it's own retails at $2550. The F1250 inline filter supports a flowrate of 1,250l/h, with a pressure drop of 1.1psi - Enough for ≈2,500hp on ethanol and ≈3,750hp on gasoline. It consists of a microglass element and fluorosilicone o-rings, making it compatible with all known fuels, while properly protecting your fuel injectors. Congratulations to Team HTP on a great weekend of racing! Team HTP kicked off the 2024 XDA season at Maryland International Raceway April 18-21! The weekend began on Thursday with a day of test sessions for three new Pro Street bikes and one new Real Street bike. The weather couldn't have been better, with sunny skies and temperatures around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. All four bikes were brand new, and Cecil began by fine-tuning the real street bike's clutch and gearing with soft 1/8 mile hits. Friday started off with Travis Wood encountering some issues with his bikes, sidelining him for the weekend. Meanwhile, David and Chris continued to make passes, adjusting each bike to suit their riding styles. During Friday night's Q1, David and Chris encountered traction issues with their Pro Street bike at half track, forcing them to abort their runs. However, the Real Street bike performed exceptionally well, with David laying down a 7.51@180mph run, securing the number 1 spot for Q1 in the Real Street category. Saturday brought unexpected overcast and cold weather, with temperatures hovering around 58 degrees Fahrenheit, presenting a tuning challenge. Despite the conditions, Chris managed to make his best pass of the weekend, hitting 6.81@201mph , though he had to end his run prematurely due to the bike drifting towards the wall. David also hit 6.81@186mph but encountered a significant half-track wheelie, leading to an aborted run. As a result, the Real Street bike fell back to the 2nd place, with Rickey Gadson claiming the top spot after becoming the first street bike to exceed 200mph. Sunday had more cold weather, with the DA for R1 at -400 feet. Chris and Cecil devised a plan as he prepared to face Darion Payne in the first round. While we managed to get the bike to make a clean, straight pass, it wasn't enough to put Darion on the trailer. The spotlight then shifted to David Fondon on the newly built HTP Real Street GSXR1000. David navigated through the field to face Jason Iannotti from GForce Race Engines. Ultimately, David emerged victorious with a 7.46@179mph run!
