I never feel alone. Until I’m doing the dishes. I am the husband, the wife, the cook, the cleaner, the dog walker and the money maker of this household. It’s amazing how certain tasks don’t feel so menial in companionship. It’s brutal how acutely aware of your solitude you are when trying to keep up with it all. My home is a constant race in shifting piles to pick up. I wish I could act like I have it all together but I don’t. I bake muffins to avoid tackling the bills on the table. But I post the muffins. By the way, I made 3 different kinds. I make mental notes of the things I need, but refuse to write them down. I figure if they’re important enough, I’ll remember. But all that seems to come to mind are the men that show no interest. On Sundays I religiously clean and manage to make it to the farmers market To eventually collapse on the couch in decision paralysis of all the ways I could have spent my day While looking for inspiration of how others do on the internet. I love that I have plants but resent that they are so needy. In an ideal world, I feed them once a week. Realistically they’re fed when it’s the last thing I need to do and yet the first thing that needs to be done. Today I went on a run to get ahead of my thoughts, And as soon as I started to, a car pulled in front of me. My hips caught up to my shoulders and threw out my back Which put me back in my head and in my late twenties.
