Dance, spoken word, live drums, visuals and scenographic design merge into a resonant experience, taking you on a deep mystical journey back to our essential roots and nature.
Isabelle Beernaert notes that in all her creations since the beginning of her dance career, a mysterious female archetypal character appears on the scene, dressed in black. This made her realize that there was always something essential there that she was exploring more deeply 'The Dark Mother'.
The ancient form of the Dark Mother is currently returning to our consciousness worldwide. With this she heralds the end of an era, which at the same time symbolizes a new beginning. It is a period of spiritual evolution in which people become more aware of the energetic connection with Mother Earth.
The Dark Mother represents the deep, dark womb of cosmic beginnings, where dark and light flow together in harmony, on both a collective and individual level.
It is also an ode to the mysteries of family histories and cultural connections, and a celebration of the beautiful diversity of human identity that goes all the way back to our tribal origins.
All colors are present in black. The black absorbs. Black is the color of the peace, quiet and darkness necessary for a seed to germinate. A child in the womb is in the dark. Before spring comes, there is winter.
Black is pregnant with light.

Dance, song, spoken word and music, visuals merge into a resonating experience. The sounds of Indian, shamanic drums, North African Hebrew, Arabic and Iberian music take you on a journey through all directions, cultures and languages.
Isabelle Beernaert has noted that in all her creations since the beginning of her dance career, a mysterious female archetypal character appears on the scene, dressed in black. This made her realize that there was always a presence of something essential that she is exploring more deeply ‘the dark mother’.
THE DARK MOTHER
The ancient form of the Dark Mother is currently making her return to our consciousness worldwide. With this she heralds the end of an era, which at the same time symbolizes a new beginning. It is a period of spiritual evolution in which people become more aware of the energetic connection with Mother Earth.
The Dark Mother represents the deep, dark womb of cosmic beginnings, where Dark and Light merge in harmony, both on a collective and individual level.
She is first and foremost the Mother of the animated Dark Earth.
The Dark Mother shows herself in the Black Venus from prehistoric times, in the Black Primordial Mother Mari of the Basques, in the Black Mother Goddess Ana of the Celts, in the Eastern Black Goddesses such as Isis, Artemis, Kybele
