- a winter solstice celebration
With roots thousands of years old, it represents the rebirth of the Sun, an opportunity for a new beginning for all life forms. That is why it still is the most sacred ceremony of the Mapuche, Aymara, Quechua, and other ethnic groups from the Andes.
For our winter solstice celebration, we have invited 𝐇𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐡 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐤𝐚 (
@hadassa_ninawillka ) to share an opening ceremony (ofrendita) directly from Bolivia via Geelong to pay our respects to our ancestors and the custodians of the land in which we celebrate. To welcome the new Sun.
