Hello friends! I recently purchased a motion picture film scanner and am offering scanning/transcoding services to you all! I have the ability to do 16mm as well as 35mm scans. This past week I’ve been scanning an archive of footage to show you all the amazing quality of the scans. I am offering HDR scans which give you 14 stops of dynamic range. I’ve included some stills in this post for you all to look at. All these scans have a Kodak 2383 print LUT applied as well as minor primary corrections. This assortment includes a wide verity of frames to show the range this scanner can capture. I’m offering DPX and Prores masters as well as proxy media with the scans. Hello and welcome to my 2023 color reel! This reel is one of my favorite because I believe it really does highlight some of my best color work. I am blessed to work alongside some of my best friends and creatives. I am forever grateful to everyone who has trusted me to handle their color needs. Last year I also embarked on the wonderful journey of motion picture film scanning. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to scan some amazing 16mm and 35mm shorts, music videos, and all other wacky projects you guys have. My goal when buying the scanner was to make the cost of shooting film less intimidating and to support my fellow film shooters. I’ve also been blessed to work as a dailies colorist at Company 3. I’ve got to work on big features and see my name in a credit crawl in a theater. I work alongside many colorists I’ve looked up to and admired ever since I started this journey. I wanted to share some stills from a print of French Connection I purchased last month. This print is heavily faded, but still looks Incredible.
I am still working my way through my Black Gunn project as well. Black Gunn is nearly finished and I am trying to find the best way to share it.
I really do love these little remaster projects. These are obviously not official remasters. Coloring these prints is more of a testing field for new techniques I have learned and want to see how much detail is recoverable.
The more time I spend in this career the more attracted I am to archival and restoration work. I would love to do this full time but alas, this job is niche and I will keep perfecting my skills until the right opportunity arises.

I bought a print of this film called Black Gunn a few months ago. I scanned it on my Cintel scanner and have slowly been working on my own sort of mastering of this print. I have been developing a fun look and wanted to share a few stills from a scene I worked on earlier today, let me know what you guys think.
