Spending this Mother’s Day remembering this remarkable woman 💖
My grandmother Muriel MacLean left us yesterday. A woman of such grace “isn’t this lovely” was a common catch phrase of hers, she always expressed gratitude at everything around her. Even her last days in the hospital she would say how she’s having the best treatment and she’s being waited on hand and foot.
She never questioned my queerness, and welcomed partners of mine like her own family. She even suggested we change the word “god” from a family grace we would sing for her to something else!
She was one of my biggest supporters when I started a photography business, and told me I had two great uncles who were photographers, one in Cincinnati and one in Truro.
She loved to sing and dance, and is the reason I love trifle!

Producing a film! We go to camera tomorrow! I can’t wait. It truly takes a village to make this happen. So grateful for everyone, especially these lil guys who packed up the gear truck today @chelseainnes@hollerthroughhell@agmaomao ! So many wonderful people working on this shoot… maybe you’ll meet them tomorrow!!

Just a fun edit I felt inspired to do while working with Belle ! (Who lives up to her namesake! 🥀) A young model and actor! (Possibly looking for representation?) Daughter of the incredible actor and stunt performer @jonambrose.actor
This was such an epic day at the studio!
I love the symbol of butterflies, who represent transformation. And despite their small delicate wings can migrate vast distances. 🏵️🏵️🏵️
Two shots I try to get for every actor is
1) a commercial shot
2) a theatrical shot
This provides a simple but great range for all the multiple characters you play on and off camera 😁

One of my first times shooting stills back in 2021 was on the set of I DON(T) - written and directed by Katelyn Mcculloch.
To say I had no idea what I was doing was an understatement !!
But it was incredible to watch Katie - the driving force behind this short film, work her magic behind and in front of the camera. It sure proves that hard work and dedication pay off. And if you can dream it, you can do it.
Soon Katie will be off to @sjiwff for its final festival screening after hitting many festivals and garnering many accolades along the way.

Last week a totally serendipitous thing happened. On Friday after walking in the Trans March I was meandering downtown, and I heard this music and I wanted to Shazam the song so I moved closer to where it was coming from.
And to my surprise Solitha and a glorious cast of models were rehearsing with @solimgmt
I have always wanted to work with Soli in some way, and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time - and with a camera ! I was anxious that I only had my 50mm, but the nifty fifty strikes again !
I can’t tell you what a dream it was to stumble upon this rehearsal! I love fashion, and the power and expression of the human body. These models are all so fierce - no doubt they are coached by the best.
I don’t know all the models to tag them… so please let me know! I have digitals to share with you too ! I only wish I had been there longer to capture everyone ! Apologies if I missed you 🙏🏼

I absolutely love having a makeup artist on set @morgannasaurus comes with such a wealth of knowledge…. And does makeup that looks natural, and heightens our casting looks. Not only is she an incredible makeup artist with years under her belt, but working in our small little industry she’s done everything including costumes for big feature films. She just brings a wealth of knowledge to the studio that doesn’t go unnoticed by me or my clients ! I highly suggest working with someone like Morgan if you want to get a few different looks in !
