Im just an everyday ordinary typical regular human 🫣 you won’t BELIEVE what i found the other day. And no this isn’t a joke! It was a high school graduation card written by an adult i used to know. They were always chill with my family but later weren’t super kind and yall - the card they wrote was so petty 😭 some day I’ll unpack it, but for now I’ll just say —
🌌Being disabled makes you different. And i hope we can all choose to be a bit kinder to the different kids and adults in our world. Sometimes someone’s illness is “obvious” and we feel like we know what not to do and what to say. And other times you may meet someone who is neurodivergent or a bit “subtly peculiar” and you can’t quite place what’s up.
🖤So please - remember to be kind! Be mindful of your words and actions. Even your reshares and reposts 🫣😊 // As an adult I’ve gotten a bit tougher and am proud of the strength I’ve developed in spite of both my condition and the pettiness that was sometimes around me. Yet sometimes, when i sing this song, i can’t help but think of the little girl (me, lol) who was often confused and overwhelmed by feeling different. Please remember — you likely know a kiddo like that, too! 🖤
