Ewan McGregor will never grow another mustache — unless a job requires it. And even then, he’d probably argue that the character should be clean-shaven. “Once it goes white, maybe,” he says. “Then I think it might look good.” McGregor’s mustache is for his role in “A Gentleman in Moscow,” a series that asked him to learn how to do a number of different things — age a character over decades, play a father and a lover, explore the inner life of a man well versed in grief and loss who never loses his zest for life. “The experience of making this show is why I wanted to be an actor,” he says. “It’s such a beautiful piece; it leaves you thinking, ‘God, I hope there’s another one out there somewhere in the future.’ But who knows?” Read our full interview with McGregor at the link in @latimes_entertainment ’s bio. 📸 Jason Armond / Los Angeles Times; Lucasfilm Ltd.

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of spending some time with Angela White, who is a reality TV star known as Blac Chyna. She is currently on a journey to rediscover herself through love and faith, without fillers. The decision to change her life came after she was baptized in the pool at her home last year. I really love how these images capture Angela's new softer side as she transforms both inside and out. “I’m soft to the people that I need to be soft with, that give me respect, and I give that respect back,” White said. “If people want to be nasty and rude, I’m still not going to give that back, but I’m going to guard myself.” Read @blacchyna ’s full interview with the one and only @marissaaevans for @latimes_entertainment at the link in bio. #blacchyna #blackhamptons 📸 @jason_armond For: @latimes @latimesphotos

Kim Gordon, known for her work in indie rock band Sonic Youth as well as her visual art, released new album “The Collective” in early March. The album is an uncompromising blend of noise and melody, bursts of avant-garde guitar and underground hip-hop. It’s a sound that makes sense in the context of her long career but without sounding like an echo from her past. The album’s 11 songs are defiantly of the moment and a direct result of her return to L.A. “Bye Bye,” the album’s first single, also became a TikTok hit. Read more about how Gordon is connecting her music and visual art at @latimes_entertainment ’s link in bio. 📸 : @jason_armond 🖊️ : Steve Appleford

The Governors Ball, just a short escalator ride up from the Dolby Theatre, is the first stop for Academy Award winners and many of the other luminaries in the #Oscars audience after the awards ceremony. The Times photographer @jason_armond was there to capture all the glitz and glam. Read @jessicagelt ’s report from the after-party at the link in our bio.

POV: you’re at the @filmindependent Spirit Awards surrounded by some of the biggest faces in Hollywood. @davinejoy , @annehathaway , @bowedtie , @cordjefferson , @jfreewright @kingofbingo , @lilygladstone , @justine.triet , @bootsriley , Andrew Scott, @emmalouisecorrin , Erica Alexander, @helloellephanta , Will Ferrell and more celebrated the biggest achievements in independent film and television, and The Times’ @indiefocus_ and @jason_armond were there to capture it all. But the afternoon wasn’t all smiles. About 40 minutes into the ceremony, which was held in a tent near the beach in Santa Monica, loud sounds could be heard by attending guests. A small group of protesters had assembled on a public sidewalk across from the tent, holding up a loudspeaker that played a pre-recorded looped chant of “Free, free Palestine,” “Long live Palestine” and “Cease-fire now” that could be heard throughout the rest of the show. Afterward, the ceremony continued and awards were handed out, with writer-director Celine Song’s “Past Lives” winning for feature and director.
