Abby Morgan and Bijan Berahimi in their vibrant, 1959, Bauhaus-inspired home. A character in itself, this house plays with the divide between indoor and outdoor space, and demands a real commitment to design from its inhabitants.

This marks the last of 5 stories I shot for Willamette Week’s Nester. Major thank you again to @azusman and @melissadelzio for the call and the assist and the art direction and the trust <3 It was such a treat getting to enter each of these homes, and listen to the how and who and when and why of each painting, chair, bowl, sculpture, rug, plant, etc. Art is so vital to our wellbeing!! You’ve got a whole life of ~coming home at the end of the day~ ahead of you! Start surrounding yourself with art you love!!
an anonymous portrait assignment I took on for The Boston Globe was published last week. (tw past the first slide for those who may be sensitive to descriptions of sexual abuse)

This week Paris and I collaborated on a poem x photo sequence. I had these words more or less written and was unsure how to structure them until Paris brought up the idea of working together on something. I sent her my poem that night and she came back with a layout of images that made my blood rush. I edited some of my words in response to her visuals, and then we played around with a few image swaps together. This simple process was completely thrilling and I’m so happy with where our collaboration landed :)
