I could try and play it cool but fuck it. I’m sitting next to one of the all-time greatest filmmakers. And I managed not to turn into that Chris Farley sketch where I just keep telling him how awesome he is. Wasn’t sure this really happened so I’m glad there seems to be photographic evidence. Was asked to moderate an opening weekend Q&A for the fantastic film KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON in IMAX with none other than Martin Scorsese at the iconic @chinesetheatres I barely even told anyone because I was so scared to jinx it. In fact, I canceled most of my plans for Friday and didn’t even want to leave the house just to be safe. You have never seen a more cautious driver than me on my way from home to the theater. I was lucky enough to interview @martinscorsese_ 21 years ago for GANGS OF NEW YORK and remember what a kind, generous, funny soul he was then and that hasn’t changed. He was so gracious with everyone and so determined to get this story right. At one point, the film was more about the FBI investigation into the Osage murders and even though they had a script and it was greenlit, he stopped everything and rewrote it to focus on the Osage people and the love story between his two lead characters. I could go on and on about what his work means to me, but I know we all feel that way. I don’t remember much of what I said, other than that I’m a big fan of his daughter, as well. If you aren’t following @francesca.scorsese - get on that. Thanks to an amazing, packed crowd filled with cinema and Scorsese fans. I did show him the shirt one person was wearing with his face all over it. Holy cow Tahoe is stunning. We hiked down and then kayaked out to this island in the middle of the lake where the water was so clear and pure. I also tried paddle boarding for the first time ever and picked up a mermaid.

One of my favorite movies of the year #thelma opens tomorrow and do not sleep on this one. It’s poignant, clever, and laugh out loud funny. It’s an action movie with 94-year-old @realjunesquibb in her first starring role in a movie. It also features a lovely turn by the late Richard Roundtree in his final film performance. For @variety I spoke to the cast and crew @jmargo999 and #fredhechinger about working with the legendary “Shaft” actor, including the time he dressed like June Squibb for her birthday in a big white wig - even though he wasn’t called to set that day. “He drove up in his big, old car. He had two dozen red roses for me, and he had put on the white wig for me. It’s been so long since I’ve been downtown to Chinatown and I’d forgotten how amazing it is. Thanks to @primevideo for getting me down to celebrate their limited series #EXPATS and hang in the noodle shop pop-up with the amazing crew of @thumbelulu @sarayublue @jiyoung_ie @brian_tee (and his lovely wife and adorable daughter!) Also, the egg waffles were delicious - as was the shaved ice that I didn’t have time to take a photo of before I devoured it. If you haven’t seen it, all six episodes are streaming now and it’s such a beautiful exploration of human connection as told through the eyes of three expatriate women. I’m always happy to see strong, complex female characters on screen and this series has no less than four of them! Between this and THE FAREWELL, Wang keeps making projects that make me call up my mom.

The @crystalbridgesmuseum in Bentonville is the most beautiful museum I’ve ever seen. It is in itself a work of art, surrounded by miles of paths and. Attire and beauty. And it has the original Rosie the Riveter!!! And a Lichtenstein! And not only a Georgia O’Keefe but her original sketch of the painting. Also an amazing sculpture by @jewel and a few @chihulystudio designs. I wish I could capture how beautiful this place is.

I had the priviledge to present with @variety ’s inaugural Creative Impact in Leadership Award to the actor, activist, author, archer (and so many other As like AMAZING) @geenadavisorg at opening night of Bentonville Film Festival, which is celebrating 10 years! Joked about how two of her movies were seminal to my childhood - STUART LITTLE and THE FLY. Which says a lot about both of her range and my childhood. Festival sponsor @cocacola also made special 10th Anniversary bottles and I accidentally cosplayed as one.

Holy cow the @yayoikusama_ Infinity Mirrored Room at the @crystalbridgesmuseum in Bentonville, AR is stunning. The whole museum is itself a work of art. More to come on that.

Wearing Godzilla Green to last night’s FYC with MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS. They had smoking popcorn which was actually delicious. Kurt Russell stuck around and greeted everyone there to see him. And I saw lots of BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA shirts and posters.
