Thought I’d share this because I’ve found that some ‘viral tips’ don’t always work for us. Bottom line, do what’s best for your family and don’t always rely on tips you see on the internet. Sometimes they can be helpful but make sure to listen to your Mama heart, each family is different. 💞
✨Toddler travel tips that did NOT work for us:
1. Board the plane last with a toddler ❌
Kennedy couldn’t wait to get on the plane after being in the boarding area for a bit. We decided to board first with ‘families with kids under 2’ and it was so much easier for us to get situated and get her seated in her car seat before everyone else was on the plane. Once seated she watched out the window and was occupied with that.
2. Brings lots of toys and games❌
Those lasted a matter of minutes. The only thing that kept her occupied was the iPad. She loves Ms Rachel and watched for hours. I read a lot of reviews on kids tablets but the iPad seemed to be the best option for us. If you upgrade your YouTube membership you can download for free and watch without internet. No screen shaming here esp on a flight!
3. Sit them on your lap if under 2❌
Best thing we did was bring the car seat on the plane. Otherwise she would have wiggled on our laps for hours. She knew she couldn’t get up and move about in a car seat and once she was set up, we were able to watch movies and eat as we pleased. We have the @alaskaair credit card so we used our free companion pass which eases the pain of buying another seat.
There I said it. Best lobster roll in New England. It’s a tradition for us at this point. 🦞

My mom ended up joining the olive oil club as they’ve been making award winning extra virgin olive oil for 30 years. Also love their small lot wine!
