Jacqueline Sarkissian took an unconventional path through the fashion industry and reached journalism after a family-friend connected her with a television news anchor who became her mentor. Today this USC graduate, after stops at San Diego’s Fox 5 and other markets, is a reporter at KTLA 5 where she did her first internship on the assignment desk. Jacqueline who loves doing fun, experiential stories shares what it’s like when your job in news gives you the chance to participate in Dancing with the Stars, cover the L.A. Dodgers opening day and ride a terrifying zipline! Jacqueline is a mom of two and she shares with us what it’s like balancing family responsibilities and her career. She also shares her take on saying bad words, and her unique talents like doing a downward taco with her tongue and being double jointed in her elbows.

our little ring bearer💍🐻 seeing mikey all dressed up in a tux was a highlight for us last month. he only made it about halfway down the aisle, so he has a few months to practice before he suits up again.
and fun fact… mikey was wearing uncle @robsark ’s tuxedo that he wore way back when he was a ring bearer!
26 miles across the sea… that’s all it takes to get to our happy place and that’s catalina. a family tradition that goes back several decades. we’re going on 5 generations. it’s super special bringing my kids now and can’t wait to see them grow up on the island just like i did.🏝️

Woke up this morning hoping yesterday’s news wasn’t real. Like most of you… I’m still in shock and at a loss for words. our beloved entertainment legend suddenly passed away.
Sam was a LA icon and admired by so many people, including myself. I was so proud to work with him @ktla5news … even a little awestruck when interviewing him just a few months ago to preview award season. But who wouldn’t be? I was interviewing thee Sam Rubin! I couldn’t believe in the midst of all the award show chaos he was dealing that day… he made time for me. He was calling and texting… giving me play by play where he was to make sure we got our interview, which did. At the end, he then complimented my work and said, “USC does a good job and produces some great talent.” To say I was flattered is an understatement. A comment coming from Sam meant everything. That small interaction left a forever impression on me.
Anyways. I’m devastated by the news and can’t stop thinking about his wife and 4 kids. please keep them in your prayers. thinking of my KTLA family who all loved and adored Sam so much as well as our viewers. for you, sam was part of your family… watching him everyday for the past 30 plus years. 💙 #ktla#samrubin
