This was my first guitar somewhere around three or four years old, at 40 I finally learned how to play. This is the first song I ever recorded that someone else wrote. When @michaelwarrenonline sent me this song he co-wrote with @danbanksmusic I immediately related to the lyrics. It very closely resembles my life and I was honored that they asked me to cut it. It’s called Don’t give Up on me now. My whole life I’ve been an underdog and had to work to get to this point. There’s many times in my life where I felt like giving up and the only thing that kept me going was my faith. I know I’ll never be some famous musician or award winning artist, and that’s ok with me, my only hope is that someone hears this song and decides not@to give up when times get tough. Another one from ya boys.. ✍🏼 @treyteem said "I got this title", we banged on drop D acoustics for a few hours, and wound up with a song that's been stuck in my head ever since that day. Trey and I have written a bunch of songs together now but this one is still a personal favorite. Credits!! One of the biggest challenges of making this album was finding the team. I wanted people who were as passionate as I am about the quality, the vision, and who would be part of this project beginning to end! I got all that and more! Lucas showed UP, taking my ideas and elevating them- his references complimented mine and his attention to every detail was such a pleasure to witness. We worked through every session together, pulling inspiration from The Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, Coldplay and Kelly Clarkson. I’ve waited to put out a true full length. Probably too long. I never felt like I had the words to say. It wasn’t because I couldn’t write it, I’ve dealt with quite a bit in my life and done quite a bit. I’ve just never truly been married to this music career. I don’t want fame, I don’t care to be known. I just love to write songs and watch them connect with people. When I figured that out, I remembered why I got into this industry in the first place. I’m a songwriter. This is my life, where I was, where I am, and where I’m going wrapped up in ten songs. The story hasn’t been fully told but this in my opinion is a great start.
