It all started with my glamorous friend Pina Hendricks telling me that she had bought sarees after 20 years in Udaipur and she was getting blouses tailored to match.. as soon as they were ready we should meet because she wanted to show them off to me.
When she called to say they were ready she asked where should we meet? Her favourite haunt is the Harbour Bar in Taj Palace where she snaps her dainty fingers and the waiters all dance to her attendance. One look at the prices and I suggested she should come home...no way did I want to pay those prices and no way did I want her to pay again. Much to my surprise she agreed to come to Bandra. She is a hardcore Sobo girl. I suddenly remembered that Farah Dada and Javed Gaya were back in in town after a 6 week vacation in Europe. I decided it was a good idea to invite them too. We had a lot of catching up to do. That's how last evening happened.
And it turned out to be a long and happy one.. Javed and Farah left around 1 am and Pina at 1.30 am. And I stayed up till 4 am watching Malice on Disney Hotstar. All's well that ends well.
N.B: Actually it ended even better...
Net gain: white wine, a case of Budweiser magnum beer and chocolate eclairs from COO from Pina..
And a silk shirt and Pakistani designer kurta set from London from Farah and Javed.
What more could one ask for when one has friends like this?
