@oneida_official ’s live show is a thing of legend, a pounding, pulsing, punch drunk onslaught of psychedelic noise and self-deprecation. “La Plage,” the second single from the band’s 17th full-length album, bottles the intoxicating energy of Oneida on the road. Roughed out on last year’s European tour and performed in exuberant shouts and bastardized French (with nods to Marianne Faithfull and Plastic Bertrand), it lurches and jives.“That’s a tune that we just kind of embraced the chaos on,” says Bobby Matador. “It has a specific form, but are we going to follow the form? Maybe some of us.” Video directed by Baby Jane New album ‘Expensive Air’ out July 19 via JNR. Available on VIP edition Explosive Smoke vinyl (includes bonus flexi), standard glass green vinyl, CD and digital. Preorder at #linkinbio

'Walk Thru Me,' The @folkimplosion_ !!re!!_039;s first full length album of new music in 25 years is out today! The recently reunited duo of John Davis and Lou Barlow are back and better than ever. We are so pumped for you to finally get to hold this in your hands! On the title track of The Folk Implosion’s first full-length album in over 20 years, Lou Barlow sings about a difficult level to reach; gratitude for the opportunity to let someone else take the wheel in this troubled world, and not being bothered by the implication of that surrender. The group’s commitment to honing every element of their craft shines through on the title track, as it does on the entire record, a gift to everyone who has been so patient with these two innovators. Album available NOW in standard white vinyl, CD, cassette and digital. See The Folk Implosion LIVE starting July 15. More info at #linkinbio

“Doreen/Come to me in my dreams/And then you leave me”. @suuns_mtl ’s new single “Doreen” – the second glimpse of the Montreal experimental band’s album The Breaks – is another first: an achingly naked love ballad that disperses into an increasingly menacing deluge of synths. The Doreen in question – according to singer/guitarist Ben Shemie – doesn’t per se symbolize a specific person, but the mysteries that inspire you to move forward, yet are never fully attained. It’s a futile quest, as thoughts, feelings, sounds and images will eternally slip through your fingers, unbound from action or creation. “Doreen” is SUUNS’ affecting serenade to oblivion. Stream the full vid at #linkinbio SUUNS newest album ‘The Breaks’ is out September 6 via JNR. Available to preorder on VIP two tone photo emulsion vinyl, standard red vinyl, CD and digital at #linkinbio

N E W S H O W . Tue 12 Nov @fleecebristol ━━━━━━━━━━━━ @tropical_fuck_storm It’s been two years since our favourite Australian post-apocalyptic acid punk disco scuzzheads, Tropical Fuck Storm, toured Europe. And while we can’t blame EVERYTHING terrible that’s happened since then on their absence, it does make you think. Luckily, our heroes are bringing their wild, destructive and unstoppable live show to a stage near you this Summer! Thrill to the interwoven shredding of guitarists Gareth Liddiard and Erica Dunn, feel the bone-rattling basslines of Fiona Kitschin, and marvel at the mind-boggling drumming of Lauren Hammel. Move over Barnum and Bailey, because there’s a new Greatest Show on Earth and it’s coming to YOUR TOWN! “A Tropical Fuck Storm gig is like putting your brain in a blender for an hour straight” Beat Magazine “In Tropical Fuck Storm’s determination to engage as fully as possible with the reality of human existence, in all its ugliness and contradictions, they are tapping into its truths.” The Quietus “Tropical Fuck Storm are masters of tension and release.” - The Guardian “Tropical Fuck Storm Stir Up A Psychedelic, Dadaist Spectacle” - Bandcamp Daily “A messy, hyperverbal, supremely danceable monolith.” - Aquarium Drunkard ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ On sale: Fri 21 June at 10am via link in bio, Headfirst & Dice.

Today, @kishi_bashi releases the second single off of new album ‘Kantos’: “Icarus IV” 🦊🎻👾 Unapologetically tapping into his rock origins, Kishi Bashi showcases his affinity for the dramatic in this veritable space opera. Blasting through the gates with a Georgio Moroder-esque synth bass line, Kishi Bashi’s guitar heroes, Thin Lizzy and Queen are evoked as they add a complementary dialogue between the vocal and the driving guitar riffs. A sullen but robust vocal ushers in the verses: “I made these wings to fly close to you/I fell from the sky with the lust for that foolish life”. Devilish power chords and angelic nods to guitar harmonies straight out of Brian May’s (Queen) playbook evoke a cosmic tension between the profane and the holy (“I want to fly a little higher”). The roman numeral “IV” is a reference to the many generations this song has gone through, from its inception as a rejected title sequence for a film, to the never ceasing calamity of our own hubris. Full video available to stream at #linkinbio . Character art and animations by @kalengo_pixelart , background art and animations from CRAFTPIX.NET, portraits by AlonelySpirit. ‘Kantos’ out August 23 via JNR. Available in standard purple vinyl, CD and digital. Tickets now on sale for the fall/winter 2024 tour. More info at #linkinbio

“Doug Yuletide” is one of two Glossolalia tracks that teams Dale Crover with guitarist Dan Southwick, his longtime friend and Altamont bandmate. “He’s one of those guys that’s always been really easy to write songs with,” Crover says. Sporting a title that mashes up the name of Velvet Underground member Doug Yule with a nod to the holiday season in which it was written, the track pairs Southwick’s rolling midtempo riffs with a tale that Crover describes, in another Velvets hat-tip, as a “vampire-story ‘Venus in Furs.’” “His figure looming over / Long fingers breaking skin,” Crover sings, shortly before the song erupts into a swell of trippy guitar. Dale Crover - @drcrover (the world-renowned drummer for @melvinsdotcom , Nirvana and @reddkross , and singer-guitarist for Altamont) releases his third full-length solo album, ‘Glossolalia,’ on September 13. The third LP under his own name and arguably his most focused statement yet as a solo artist: ‘Glossolalia’ features 11 catchy yet eccentric tracks that move from Nuggets-y garage rock to crafty proto-metal riffage and gorgeously hazy psych-pop, touching on everything from a bad teenage trip to the charms of the late, great Jane Birkin. He’s joined by a cast of illustrious guests including @toshikasaimusic , @tysegall , Pinback’s Rob Crow, @soundgarden ’s Kim Thayil and none other than @tomwaits . Today you can hear the lead single “Doug Yuletide” and watch a music video directed by alicia.kasai at #linkinbio . ‘Glossolalia’ is available now for pre-order on Hot Pink vinyl, CD and VIP “Lickety Split Pink” Vinyl, limited to 400 hand-numbered copies with a bonus flexi-disc at #linkinbio Crover previously announced a short Dale Crover Band headlining trek across California for late August, and will also pull double-duty on the upcoming @reddkross tour, playing drums for the band and also opening with an acoustic set. A new, homemade video just dropped for @folkimplosion ’s latest single “My Little Lamb” 🐑🐑🐑 Watch in full at #linkinbio Lou Barlow’s thoughts on the track + video: “This could be my first song explicitly about parenthood. I worked hard to find the right pitch, tempo and story for it. I even added a last minute, emergency, in person, studio session to perfect it with Scott Solter, who, very generously paid for his own flight to Massachusetts. The video was conceived and shot by my wife Adelle and I. We wanted to illustrate the worst case scenarios that can haunt a parent’s mind while raising adorable children. First we searched local antique stores for stuffed sheep, serendipitously acquired a lamb puppet from a neighbor, and visited a local smoke shop and acquired an array of implements used for street drugs. We then collected empty nip bottles from various parking lots around town to round off the props needed for a crude stop-action video. Enjoy!” New album ‘Walk Thru Me’ is available to preorder on standard white vinyl, CD and cassette at #linkinbio . This is the their first full length album in 25 years, and it releases later this month on June 28! The Folk Implosion goes on the road starting mid-July. Are they coming to your city? It’s our great pleasure to announce the sixth studio album from respected avant-rockers @suuns_mtl , ‘The Breaks’, due out September 6th, 2024. Forged between countless plane rides, road trips, van tours, and text threads, ‘The Breaks’ became a product of endurance and a lot of trial-and-error. It’s a record composed in tight fissions of freedom, where spells of whispered intimacy are allowed to branch out into vast glacial dreamscapes. It captures SUUNS at their most panoramic, curious, and exuberant: a constant relay of being adrift and enlightened anew, geared up to eleven. And guess what: the wheels keep on spinning. Today you can hear the album’s title track with a music video directed by Alexander Ortiz. “The Breaks”, the spectral, goosebumps-inducing title track of SUUNS’s upcoming sixth album, inspires images of a frozen paradise – a place pristinely preserved in time. Yet internally, the mind surges between the waking world and the dream, as glacial synth arpeggios cascade in and out of consciousness like waves on a shore. “The Breaks” embodies SUUNS’s bold new venture into dream pop territory – one side plunging in the depths of electronic abstraction, the other anchored into their instincts as a band. SUUNS’ new album ‘The Breaks’ is available for pre-order on red vinyl, CD and Limited Edition VIP Two Tone Photo Emulsion vinyl, limited to 400 hand-numbered copies w/ bonus flexi disc. Includes digital download in MP3/AIFF/WAV.
