The new and improved jar lids, made a huge difference..enabling me to make up batches of 20 of each species in just under 15minutes a strain..zero faff and not a single needle wasted and a fraction of the time 🙏
It feels good to get these all buttoned up.. A huge amount of time and effort has gone into these liquid cultures. From their initial transfer, then another transfer, then into the liquid broth, nurturing everyday, stiring and checking for zero signs of contam.
It's been a ride 🤠
Just labels to print and then these will be ready to go out into the big world and dine on some plump, hydrated grains 🫡

A Summer Truffle landed on our doorstep, from sunny Sussex! Within no time it was dissected and several small sterile biopsies where transfered to agar.
Now the plates are sitting in the incubator, all we can do is wait...⏳️
We'll check up on them every 24-48hrs to see what we're incubating in there..hopefully it's native Tuber Aestivum! 🍄🫶

As of 2005 and the ammendment of the 1971 misuse of drugs act, mushrooms containing psilocin or 'magic mushrooms' were reclassified as Class A drugs. Meaning since 2005 it's been illegal to import, export, produce, supply or possess magic mushrooms in any form... It is however, completely legal to possess the spores of magic mushrooms, simply because they don't contain psilocin! Spores can be purchased legally for the purpose of being viewed under a microscope🤓..they can also be stored until such time that magic mushrooms may be made legal again! 😅

Scorcher today! 🥵.. Had the fogger working over time, to try and maintain the conditions required to grow mushrooms..so here we are, patiently waiting for the @uptoncountrypark Coral Tooth to start fruiting 🙏
We've also sent a plate to our friends at the other end of the island @marvellousmushrooms to have a wee play 🏴
We plan on expanding this culture and making it available, to 🫵 as liquid mycelium..the trial fruiting body went down a treat on the small bag, so it's an exciting prospect to think others may have the pleasure of growing the same 🍄
..and looks can be deceiving because the seemingly insignificant all-in-one bag from @mycopunks produced an impressive 400g fruit! It's gone back into fruit again, so will be interesting to see

Father's day gift finally arrived - and the wife and boys have done well!
They got me this great looking @subcold_official fridge for all my gourmet mushroom home lab antics. Nothing to do with my wife getting frustrated by me putting jars of mycelium and agar plates in the kitchen fridge 😅
Plenty of room and well designed shelves/a draw that can be moved about or removed to set the space up as you like - and even a drinks can rack in the door so I can store some refreshment for the thirsty lab work 👍
And it wouldn't feel right if I didn't start slapping stickers on from the Fungafam who have helped me out and collaborated with me! @mycopunks are legit legends, and aren't so much of a wave as they are a tsunami in the mushroom space; grateful for their support of me and the whole of mushroom middle earth. @jurassiccoastmushrooms is headed up by @mushymentor who is an absolute lad, knowledgeable as heck, and a good egg - I'm grateful for his friendship, collaboration, and his annoying quizzes.
There are others such as @the_mushroom_emporium@darren_le_baron@mycosymbiote@aenshent@fungalphabet@thefungusamongus_uk@mycomutiny_sutton@urban_myco and @urban.farm.it to name but a few who I'm also grateful to for their help and collaboration... but I've run out/not got any stickers! So hopefully they will see this and send me some to appear on the fridge of fame!
