I’m just kidding y’all! But seriously, skating the boardwalk can be rough, especially on new terrain. I’ve skated on many boardwalks around the world, and one common challenge is their unpredictability. Here are some real tips for skating on a beach boardwalk: ✨
✨First, don’t look directly down at the ground while skating. Instead, look ahead to spot any rocks or cracks. Remember, where you look is where you’ll go, so keep your eyes forward.
✨Second, stagger your feet when skating. You never know what crack you might roll over, so keep a staggered stance with the toes of your front foot slightly lifted. This way, if you hit a crack, you can land safely on your front foot.
✨Third, and most importantly, be aware of your surroundings. If you’re skating backward, watch out for people and animals around you. Sometimes people aren’t paying attention while enjoying the sun. It’s your responsibility to look out for their safety and your own.
Remember, practice makes perfect. Stay aware, stay safe, and most importantly, have fun out there! Happy skating! 🛼

All my life, I’ve been told to be strong, that black women are strong and resilient. And even though yes, we are all those things, we also deserve to be taken care of, to live a soft life, one not defined by struggle.
We’ve been told we’re magic, but Black women aren’t magical because we are strong. We’re magical because we still choose joy in a world that has attempted to take it away from us ✨
Living a soft life isn’t about luxury or wearing pink all the time; it’s about choosing peace and happiness in this world that has tried to convince us we don’t deserve it✨
For me, living softly means learning to surrender and allow, focusing on my desires, creating boundaries for myself and others, healing my trauma, and doing hobbies that make my soul happy✨
I remember a few years back reading a study from the American Heart Association about how 1 out of 2 Black women suffers from some type of heart disease, caused by stress related to race, gender, or income. From that moment, I told myself that would not be my narrative✨
Black women, you are the epitome of softness, you are the epitome of femininity. So I hope today and every day, you choose joy, you choose not to burden yourself with the weight of the world’s expectations. Embrace your softness, and let it be your strength.✨

Kamry and I met at the roller rink about five years ago, but I’m so glad our bond has blossomed beyond our wheels. I have and continue to learn so much about live rolling, living, and enjoying life in her orbit. To have relationships where you can witness such beautiful blackness, power, grace, and agency is so important.
Juneteenth is a day where we get to reflect on the progress and what still needs to be done, but it’s the meaningful bonds with beautiful black friends and family that keep me inspired and motivate to make the most of this life and plant seeds for who comes next 🫶🏾

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized not everyone values their female friendships like I do. I used to meet women who would disappear once they were in a relationship, prioritizing romance over friendship.
But now, in my 30s, I’m blessed with amazing women who invest in our friendships, even while in relationships. We share dreams, ideas, and support each other unconditionally.
Romantic love is beautiful but it’s important to remember to center and pour into all types of love. Female friendships bring a unique and irreplaceable joy and support that enriches our lives in countless ways. 💖
