When there’s a will, there’s a way! I was able to get creative and find this client a lender that would accept the income that was stated as a “temporary” contract. Contact me to discuss your mortgage needs! #firsttimebuyer #preapproval #realestate #homebuying

So excited this first time buyer and her new place to call home! We shopped rates and products and she chose a lender that fits her needs better. Sometimes the cheapest isn’t the best option! #mortgagebroker #firsttimehomebuyer #realestate

Canada’s inflation rate unexpectedly accelerated in May. Statistics Canada realeased the data this morning and the Consumer Price Index rose 2.9 per cent in May on a year-over-year basis, up from 2.7 per cent in April. Analysts were expecting a slight slowing to 2.6 per cent. This doesn’t mean prices are heading back to where they were before the inflation surge. But while general prices are rising at a slower rate, the situation is more volatile for specific items. The CPI includes hundreds of goods and services and their prices can fluctuate for all sorts of reasons. Services prices rose 4.6 per cent in May on an annual basis, up from 4.2 per cent in April. A variety of items – including cellular services, travel tours and rent – contributed to the acceleration. For instance, the price of fresh produce can be driven higher by adverse weather in other countries, then fall back as growing conditions improve. Other products such as consumer electronics have become persistently cheaper over time, thanks to factors including technological advances and offshore manufacturing. Recently, a major driver of slower inflation has been higher interest rates, which have led to weaker spending and although prices are mostly higher than they were five years ago, consumers have recently found savings in some areas, including fresh fruit, appliances and car rentals. Let’s see what June shows us when the report comes out at the end of July! BOC has more to consider going into next month’s meeting… Stay tuned! #inflation #bankofcanada #economy #mortgagebroker
