Didn’t get struck down by lightening, so I mustn’t have offended the Greek gods!

Flowers are blooming & Spring is springing(?)! Just like the seasons my babies are growing and changing alongside me. I haven’t written about our first Birth Circle, mainly because life has been busy and I wanted to give myself time to reflect. I was truly moved by our gathering, Diolch o galon to Amy and the ladies who attended for sharing this with me. Since September, 2023 Amy @belovedbirth.doula and I have been dreaming up how we can create a space for our community to connect. A space to share. A space to give and to let go. I feel like we have achieved that. Our circle is held how we would like to birth, low-lighting, candles, lovely smells and sounds. We talk forming a circle around an alter-of sorts, reminding us of our strengths and our roots. We have ceremonial cacao and a womb meditation to begin, and we set silent intentions of what we hope to get from our gathering. This is just the beginning. Please get in touch with with either Amy or myself directly or by going to the link in my profile to request a spot. We believe that all women/birthers, no matter how long ago you gave birth can benefit from our Birth Circle. That is why we have made this event free. For those in the position to donate a small sum to help those who are unable to have access to this event, thank you. Donations are not public and not necessary to attend. Can’t wait for our next Birth Circle this Saturday. ✨

I’m really glad to announce that @belovedbirth.doula and I are offering an intimate women’s circle for those who would like to share their birth stories and connect with other mothers in the community. Our intention is to create a safe space to help women and birthers to process their transition into motherhood without judgement. Our first circle will be on Saturday the 24th February, 6:30 - 8:30pm at @caffimami , Llanaelhaearn. This is not limited to those who have given recent births, we feel women and birthers of all ages deserve to have space held for them. Please share to those who may benefit connecting with us. Not to state the obvious, but…

They grow up so fast, right? But sometimes even our bigger kids need to be wrapped up and nurtured. My eldest had fallen over at the park after a stimulating day out in London. To some, it appeared to be a typical toddler tantrum (and sometimes they’re right, it is!) but this time was different, I knew he needed his mama to hold him close to her heart and help guide his body to regulate - and it worked. Not long after having contact with me he felt listened to, he felt safe and he was sound asleep. I got many second glances at carrying my toddler around in a sling, and I gave zero f@&ks, we were content. It’s easy to get caught up in the day by day parenting battle (I def can get a little stressed), but hugging it out ALWAYS feels right! I’ll never stop holding you, little man!

It’s World Breastfeeding Week, and this years theme is "Let's make breastfeeding and work, work!". I’m not sure what that looks like for everyone breast/chest/bottle feeding but for me it entails engorgement and wet patches at work. It doesn’t bother me so much (besides the fact that I would love to actually feed my child when my breast are telling me to), but I can tell it can get a bit awkward for some observers… c’mon, It’s just milk, guys! (. ) ( .) 💦 Have you ever tried your own milk? • NEW BEGINNINGS • Last October I packed my bag - and my 3 month old - on a whim to reclaim a part of myself (a part you often let go when becoming a new mother; the liberty of self), and I set-off to Glastonbury to do something I’ve thought about for years. Now I’ve done my doula training and I’m one step closer to supporting people during the full spectrum of fertility, pregnancy, loss + postpartum which feels like a nice dream (one where I get a long lie-in and no one is kicking me in the head). I have this fire within me to uphold people’s birth rights. To help people recognise their strengths and when they feel weary to lend them my own.
