@notjadedyet (#JadeStice ) was a beautiful actor and singer who I had the pleasure of touring the country with back in 1999/2000. She was a loving mother of 3 (ages 9,13, and 16) until tragedy stuck recently while hiking with her son. The cast and I have started a #gofundme page for Jade’s children. @fefinley7 was Jade’s sister-in-law and also part of the cast. The link is in my bio. I want to thank so many folks in the village it takes to make me feel so put together on nights like last night. @emilysanchezstyle love you! And lastly, to my parents, who came last night for the 8th time and my children, Owen and Charlotte, who came last night for the first time. They are my everything.
Today is the day. 4 years ago this amazing woman @reneeelisegoldsberry and I were sitting 6 feet apart watching our daughters take an outdoor tap class on squares of plywood (spaced 6 feet apart) generously taught by one of my oldest and best friends, fellow #BroadwayMom@meganosterhaus ❤️. We started talking about #motherhood and this crazy business and how to two intersect (all three of us have been pregnant on stage). And as the details started to unfold of Renee’s journey to motherhood while building not just any Broadway show but @hamiltonmusical to name a few, it was clear that we don’t talk enough about it. We haven’t shared enough with each other. Tonight we premiere @satisfieddoc and through Renee’s story, we continue the conversation among all women in this business and beyond. Directed by @chris.bolan and @melissahaizlip_ this film is about the dreams (and the secrets) we hold about “having it all. @tribeca
I’m so proud to be a part of this. This is for all #mothers and all those who have been #mothered (see what I did there?). This part of the @reneeelisegoldsberry story, which is only one part, albeit holding more than enough for a lifetime, resonates with all of us, any person who has ever dreamed. But especially any Mother. Not everyone’s journey includes a Broadway career, much less helping to build a phenomenon, while having a family, but who said any single creation conceived and birthed isn’t worth reflection and celebration? In @satisfieddoc we learn about secrets and sacrifice and ultimately, success. I’m proud to be an executive Producer with @stickfigureproductions and @amblin and @lin_manuel to name a few. This idea started as a conversation between Mothers and now belongs to you.
