I had to choose between going to @Howard1867 Homecoming OR participating in my first 48 Hour Film Challenge! It was a tough decision because I I havent seen everyone in a WHILE!! Plus I just LOVE my line sisters 💕🐸 and my Bison family ❤️💙!! After much deliberation and 2 cancelled hotel reservations, I decided to choose to work over play this time! This film challenge is intense. On Friday night they give each group a genre they MUST stick to, a line of dialogue they MUST include, a prop they MUST use, and a character they must integrate into the story. Within 48 hours each team has to turn in a 4-7minute completed film! 2 teams out of 26 didn’t make it in time. Mine did🙌🏽 After the first round of screenings we placed in the Top 10!🥳 Then, yesterday my dad accompanied me to the top 10 screening and awards. Our film won FOUR awards, including…. 🗣️BEST ACTRESS!!🎭🙌🏽🥳 As much as I love strolling down memory lane of my college years, I chose to create in the direction of my future instead of reminiscing about my past, and ya’ girl took home her first "acting award".🙌🏽 🏆🎭 To some, this might seem like a small accomplishment for me, but I don’t take ANY affirmation of my talent for granted!! In this business, you can easily get lost in self doubt and insecurity! So I am grateful for EVERY opportunity I have to work creatively, especially if that work is RECOGNIZED AS WORTHY!!🙌🏽🖤🖤 Congrats to the whole team! My Bday #90sLewk‼️ It’s giving #AdifferentWorld meets #RVA 😆✊🏽💃🏽🥂 #itsTheLipLinernGloss4me ♏️ So I’ve made another turn around the sun…but I’m often more pulled to the energy of the moon. Interestingly enough, the night of my bday into the next morning, there was the longest 🌕 eclipse in over 500 years. A celestial event✨💫 ♏️ My bday is the 18th, which reduces to a 9 bday in numerology. This year my bday fell on a personal 9 day for me, AND I’m currently in a personal 9 month. Waaaayyy back in the day, November was the 9th month of the year. ♏️ In numerology the 9 represents commencement. It is the ending of a cycle to prepare for a new one. It’s the completion of a full experience to ascend to the beginning of a new one. ♏️ I’ve been feeling SO restless this year. Doing a lot of internal work…face to face w/my darkest selves & deepest thoughts. But I’ve just FELT that I’m moving into a new time. This bday is marking the turning of a corner. I’m out on the leading edge, & I’m only looking back to take things with me that feel GOOD! So it made sense that I celebrated this transition, jamming at a NINEties party! 😜Cause I’m feeling EXTRA #pinkNgreen tonight💅🏽 💖💚 Went to Mexico with some of my line sisters & had the TIME OF MY LIFE! So many jokes, so many memories, so many YEARS of friendship and genuine #Sisterhood 🥰 💖💚 For all the people who think they understand what this thing we have is…what we are about…why we exist…. what we do….you probably DON’T! Came up for me in #meditation this morning🙃 🧘🏽‍♀️ What hit wasn’t the “DESERVE”, it was the “ALL”. SOME, I can handle, but I actually got uncomfortable thinking about “having it all”🥴 🧘🏾‍♀️ #Worth means something different 2 everyone, but I’ve come 2 know myself as always battling uphill 2 PROVE my worth: in relationships, career advancement, a financial increase, talent, etc..I’ve STRUGGLED w/feeling unworthy of certain levels of abundance & expansion. 🧘🏽‍♀️ Wait….let me not lie & try 2 make this post all about some PAST struggle. I STILL struggle w/the value I place on myself🥴. RIGHT NOW. 🧘🏽‍♀️*deep breath* The past 5 years, I’ve gone in & out of bouts of depression. It’s completely natural 4 life 2 ebb & flow, but the ebbs have all but knocked me OUT. No one would look at me (or my presentational personality online🙄), & think I was suffering w/suicidal ideation. Even some of my #closefriends didn’t detect it. The few who knew, have kept me protected and uplifted💖 🧘🏽‍♀️ Buuut….NO ONE can make ME feel better about ME! NO ONE ELSE can look at me through MY EYES & make me see my self-worth! NO ONE ELSE can make me FEEL Iike I DESERVE ALL that life has 2 offer. That sh&@ gotta come from WITHIN! 🧘🏽‍♀️ I’m writing this 2 say…I’m still struggling. But I’m actively working at getting out of my own way. And I’m not gon’ lie…Social media is a HUGE trigger 4 me😫. Soooo…this is part of my therapy🙃. Being able 2 post honestly, w/all my flaws, fears, insecurities and doubts & find acceptance 4 myself, the REAL ME, (not based on likes or comments or worrying bout the f%&@!g algorithm😖), is gonna be a MAJOR step! 🧘🏽‍♀️ Maybe someone else will feel seen, heard & understood in that lonely place where we isolate ourselves from our tribe, & our own joy. I KNOW I’m not alone. But 4 the first time, I’m willing 2 stand alone in my transparency. LET GO.🤲🏽 While meditating on this final night of the March #FullMoon cycle, I heard these 2 words so clearly. And so, I am now completely in a state of RELEASE. 🌕 Supposedly the energy of a full moon lasts for 3 days. During that time, I’ve been listening to my highest levels of intuition & "reading the tea leaves" as my daddy would say🤣🥰 🌕 I KNOW that I’m on the verge of things bigger than I ever used to imagine for myself. I know that to reach those things, I have to make space for them. 🌕 I wouldn’t call myself a hoarder, but I will admit I have a hard time letting go of things, especially if they truly mean something to me. I have an even harder time letting go of people🥺 🌕 It ain’t gonna be easy, but it is the path I must go. It is the #PathofLeastResistance I will continue to forge ahead, toward the abundance that eagerly awaits me. 🌕 Those things which I have called forth from vibration into being, are ready to manifest in the physical.
