Foo Fighters! Last time I saw them was November 2002 when Dave had short hair and my love for Pat Smear wasn't as apparent. I bloody love Pat Smear. Got all the tunes I wanted AND an accordion solo so what's not to love. Seems half of Cardiff was there, it was lovely to see you all. Also big props to the guy who literally caught a flying pint near the end, he was like Magneto.
Smashing Pumpkins at the castle. Apparently the keep now belongs to Billy Corgan who claimed it as "his castle". It is very difficult to take photos of Billy Corgan as he seems to reflect all light. Glad to have ticked SP off my gig list, didn't think that would happen. Tonight Tonight was very special. The Pumpkins will always make me think of a person from my life who has taken herself off into the world without the rest of us, and I think she would have loved this gig. Heck there were so many people there who I knew but didn't bump into that maybe she did go, hiding in plain sight.
Weezer at the castle. An absolute soggy delight. We saw Weezer on their own tour at Brixton in maybe 2014 and this performance blew that one out of the water. Maybe it's something about playing at a castle in the rain. I bloody love Weezer. Would have loved to have heard Africa but beggars can't be choosers! Thank you Weezer, you can come again!
Munich Photo Dump Part 4
Old Town, inclusive traffic and public transport systems, Alehouses and the best pork I have ever eaten, bookshop dogs (her name is Emma) and the S-Bahn. I absolutely adored Munich and was sad to come home.
Munich Photo Dump Part 3
Olympiapark. One of the best places I have ever been because it's stunning, well designed, public property AND it has a TV tower
Munich Photo Dump 2
featuring Damien Hurst, Sendinger Tor, a tram with Pride flags on, epic church, Olympiapark and it's million steps down into the stadium (85 steps actually but still), Metallica with the epic TV tower in the background.
Ich liebe München 🖤❤️💛
