Bites of the Bluegrass has gone and done it AGAIN, y’all!
I had been dreaming about the Just a Few Miles South
@bitesofthebluegrass tour featuring
@ouitamichel herself and it did not disappoint!
You start on Main Street in Versailles at
@hollyhillandco studio with Erin introducing Ouita.
From there, we walked down to the
@woodfordhotel for a bourbon tasting led by Ouita. This boutique hotel has each room dedicated to a different Woodford County bourbon. Stunning!
Then, we hopped on the bus where Erin told us all about different farms, horse jockeys and good drama that’s omitted from our history books! All the while nibbling on the snack boxes that Ouita made for us.
@saxonyfarm was our next stop! Greeted at their grand event barn and followed by cocktails & delish appetizers. The owners talked about their family history on the farm and we even got to meet Indie, their family horse.
The grand finale was ending at
@hollyhillinn where Ouita and her team had prepared us a FEAST! Cocktails, salmon, flank steak, broccoli and salad, chicken & dumplings with little gnocchi…yes, it was all even better than it looks and sounds! I topped that off with a bread pudding that I’ll have dreams about.
Ouita showed us their gardens, herbs, and grounds that not only house the restaurant, but her family home too.
I’ve always been a Ouita fan, but this experience took that fan-girling to a whole new level. I always talk about the doers and people who champion others. People that visualize the life they want and make it happen. That’s Ouita. And folks, she hasn’t even started her 3rd act. I can’t wait to see what that brings!
