Proof that pacing can actually be more fun than racing at times. 😂
When we got this roll of film developed I was literally lol as I had no idea
@ultrabirch was behind me in this photo, hands on his knees, surely contemplating his life decisions up to this point, as I think we were only about 1/3 of the way through his 300-mile solo run of The Speed Project.
It was fun getting to be out there with the team, not knowing exactly when or how far I'd be running until the leg before was underway.
Zero pressure except for your 1 simple job - get your runner safely from point A to B in the time allotted, making sure he shows up to point B with him as close as possible to the same condition/readiness as he left with from point A.

@cassiehawrysh lovingly reminded us that if we had our own personal issues come up while we were out there to suck it up, deal with it, and keep doing your job.
Evan didn't know this at the time, but I was dealing with massive GI discomfort/issues for almost the entire race, and on this specific leg I almost had trouble keeping up with him as we got closer to the RV.
Luckily, after I finished this leg, I found an old abandoned tire in the middle of the desert, dug a cat hole, positioned the tire just right, and used it as a comfortable toilet seat to relieve myself. 💩
Probably the reason I was smiling so big in this picture... Lol! 😂
