What I eat in a day with PCOS…
Lately I’ve been prioritizing more protein to feel my best, especially with PCOS. PCOS can cause insulin resistance which results in carb cravings, feeling hungry more often, and fatigue.
And it’s not just affecting those with PCOS — 4 in 10 adults have insulin resistance.
I love experimenting with different foods and noting how I feel after — it’s crazy how different you can feel after eating certain meals especially if your blood sugar spikes too high. I noticed I was struggling after lunch time with a big crash, so I started adding lean proteins to lunch that are easier for me to digest.
The difference has been huge for my energy levels!
An example day — tea, veggie juice, green smoothie, turkey bacon, salad w/ quinoa, black bean + veggie cassava quesadilla, veggies + quinoa + chicken, protein mug cake
No gluten, dairy, soy (and some other allergies), and I avoid inflammatory foods.
