“To be a great leader to me means you have to include others. It’s always about what can I do to help the people have a better life.” Widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, with a career that includes 39 Grand Slam titles, Billie Jean King has made a lasting impact as a LGBTQ+ activist and advocate for women’s equality in sports.   King co-founded the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in 1973, advocating for equal prize money and opportunities for female players. Her efforts led to significant advancements in gender equality within professional tennis, including the introduction of equal prize money at major tournaments like the US Open. Since becoming one of the first prominent athletes to come out in 1981, she has consistently used her platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ acceptance and equality.   Revisit @wiserthanme ’s ‘Wiser Than Me’ conversation with @BillieJeanKing wherever you get your podcasts   #BillieJeanKing #JuliaLouisDreyfus #Tennis  #Pride2024  #pridemonth2024

In 2022, speed skater Erin Jackson (@speedyj ) became the first Black woman EVER to win an individual gold medal at the Winter Olympics. But guess what? It’s insanely expensive to train and compete as an Olympian, and you get paid an annual salary of exactly zero dollars to do it – unless you win a medal, and even then, you have to make that paycheck last until the next Olympics. X (@80dollarsandasuitcase ) sat down with Erin to talk about the price of being the best in the world and how to make a living doing what you love. Created in partnership with Flourish Ventures, listen to the latest episode of The Dough wherever you listen to podcasts! #podcastrecommendations #olympics #athletictraining #financialpodcast
