Warpath conjures up images of wild blood thirsty men on horseback wreaking havoc. However, being a warrior is much more than blood lust.
All life is sacred to Indigenous Peoples, going to war meant taking an enemies life or losing your own. In that light they had to enter with pure intentions, living life on the right path.
Thus when they took up the warpath they did so knowing that up to that moment they had lived their life in harmony and balance with their fellow humans and nature.
Warriors went through as much mental and spiritual training as physical. They were provider's and protecters of their land and people which held great honor. Helping the elderly and passing on knowledge of the right way to live to younger generations.
They can face what comes with a clean conscience knowing that death holds no fear for they have lived with dignity. That dignity was often mistaken as pride, and perhaps it is for it isn't easy to always do the right thing.
This cuff is a reminder of those warriors who fought for us to be here. May their spirit and values live on. AH-HOKA-HEY!
