We escaped this weekend to Death Valley National Park to walk through the rare lake formed at Badwater Basin, 282 ft. below sea level. This lowest point in North America is usually a salt bed, but is now a shallow lake after the recent atmospheric river that hit California. We had the chance to walk it a couple of years ago in the salt bed form, so it was really cool to see it now as a lake. This isn’t expected to last long, so visit soon to experience this rare site.
