1 In 4 is a story about miscarriage awareness.

Our singer, Cam and his wife, Nicole, in 2020 went through the toughest journey of their lives. They had made the choice to take the next step in their relationship - to try and bring new life into this world. They were lucky enough to fall pregnant and with joy, excitement and nerves, started to plan for their future family.
.
After getting past the 12 week scan they then had the joy of telling all their friends and family. It was shortly after this Nicole started to have a few worries about their baby, so went for another scan to make sure everything was ok. This was at a time when Covid and lockdowns were a thing, so Nicole had to attend these scans and appointments alone. It was this last scan that Nicole was told she was losing their baby and that unfortunately there was nothing that could be done, apart from let nature take its course and naturally give birth to their child (that had sadly not made it), or she could take a pill that would make the process faster - which still took 4 heartbreaking weeks to finally work after complications.

Through this whole process they felt very alone, completely overwhelmed and totally lost. It felt like there was nobody to talk to and nothing anyone could say to make the process easier. Cam decided a few months after to write his feelings into a song and with the help of Ben and Thor, created what is now ‘1 In 4’.

This song is all about their story and how it made them feel, but it is also a song which we hope can bring help to others who have, or who are struggling with neonatal, miscarriages or infant loss.
