Istanbul is one of my favorite cities to play and @electronicafestival right next to the black sea did not disappoint. Played the night before in the beautiful @raspoutine.paris in Paris. As soon as I started someone ran to the front holding his phone that said “play Bittersweet - song of the summer.” It will never not be crazy to me that people listen to my music at all let alone in a different country 🥹

- one of the coolest gifts I have ever received. This beautiful soul took lyrics from my song and wove them in with Grateful Dead Lyrics and even included a lyric from a poem my dad wrote that was passed out during my Light Places tour. And then he photo shopped me in with the Dead on the front of the shirt. I saw him wearing this from afar in the audience during the femme house panel and at first I thought it was some cool bootleg merch but afterwards he gave one to each of my parents and me and he had us sobbing! Please DM me so I can send you some words of gratitude.

Electric Forest ⚡️🌳 thank you to all the people that came back for my Dead House set after being evacuated due to weather and danced with me in the mud. It was quite touch and go and we didn’t know if the show would happen until right before it did so I was blown away to see anyone there. thank you and thank you to the staff that made it all possible with such an amazing attitude!
Thank you to @sci_official for asking me to sit in for their Saturday night show. I was so bummed that got canceled but I was honored to even get to rehearse with y’all and be in the presence of such a special band who’s legacy is not only their incredible music but also this incredible festival.

Thank you to @dominiclalli from @biggigantic for playing a few tunes with me at the Ocular organ. We had a 15 min rehearsal to run through Bill Evan’s Peace Piece, the Grateful Dead’s Franklin’s Tower and M83’s Midnight City and I’m so grateful that the weather held out because you are so fun to play with.
I was really excited for my main set Sunday night - especially because it was the first festival Xander and I got to be at for the entirety of the festival in the last 3 years - but alas best laid plans… but I can’t complain about being sheltered in place in a green room cabin with my parents and best friends for 6 hours 2 days in a row ☺️ even with all the challenges I see why people hold this festival so close to their hearts. I really hope I get to come back!

@portugaltheman has been my favorite band since 2012 when I discovered their album In the Mountain in the Clouds. The amount of late night air guitar sessions in my kitchen to this band is countless.
They sent me some tunes to work on including what is now ‘Bittersweet’. The vocal is one of the most attention grabbing melodies I have heard in a long time. This song has also taught me the power of a key change and I will be eternally grateful for that ;-)

When I was young I used to write my parents little notes and leave them under their pillow or around the house and I would sign them “love, Dotr” as I was (and still am) the world’s worst speller. To this day when they write me a birthday card or letter, they start it: “Dear Dotr.”
Dotr is both a celebration for what one has and a recognition of what one has lost. During a three month span in 2023 I lost three crucial women in my life. I pay homage to them in the intro and interludes woven throughout the album in an attempt to honor and remember them. Even though parts of Dotr were made out of grief, the overall message is one of reveling in being alive at all. There are also a lot of themes tied to home (the ones we create or the ones we were born into) which, for me, are reflected through my identity as a daughter.

Today we released @mascolo___ ‘s record ‘Call’ on @yesyesyespresents that marks the beginning of a steady flow of absolute heat to come. This is a special signing for many reasons. Eric has become family (my chosen little brother if you will) over the last 7 years. I have had the honor of having a front row seat to watch him develope his sound by noodling in Ableton for 15 hours a day or write pop hits with Ryan Tedder or write songs on his guitar. When @chadryandonnelly and I first met this talented kid from Colorado, we started showing him dance music having no idea he was a complete sponge who was taking everything in to one day birth his own incredibly special electronic project. It is finally here and we couldn’t be more proud of him. I’m so excited to watch his journey unfold.

Last year @portugaltheman reached out asking me if I was interested in remixing one of their singles(or maybe I went to them begging for one. Either way not important 😉) I just about passed out when I got that offer. We ended up both playing Chicago the same night last year and I came to their show and then they came to mine. You don’t always want to meet your heroes, but in this case you do. They far exceeded my expectations as humans and artists.
So excited to say that we have another collab called ‘Bittersweet’ & it’s coming out next Wednesday 6/26 at 9am PT. Pre-save now!
