In my eyes she was perfect, she was the embodiment of my dream woman. And had she come along a bit later in my life, she would have been my life.
This one time as i was picking her up, she was finishing her makeup and came to the door wearing a robe and her hair up in a bun. I can remember vividly the moment the door swung open to reveal her in this perfect light. It was like laying eyes on a piece of art, i was star struck. She was what i could only describe as angelic.
Bathed in soft light, she leaned against the doorway in this flirty way and gazed at me the way little girls stare at their crush. It was heaven.
All dough eyed and bashful i stuttered when i said hi. I couldn't help it. It was a euphoric feeling of elation, nerves, and utter confusion as to how someone so perfect inside and out could both exist and could like me?
Its strange that just a simple moment in time like that could stay with me forever.
I figure life in the end is really just the memory of your lifes strongest emotional moments.

Ive been going through a process of figuring out who i am and where i stand as far as being brown.
I never learned anything about my peoples history in school, so the only info i had to work with was spanish films and whatever my mom taught me.
It felt like our acomplishments were not worth noting or learning about. I never had positive brown representations, so i had to look up to either black or white guys...
After lots of research and a number of visits to the motherland, I was able to reach a point inside myself where i can confidently be prowd of who i am and where i come from.
I hope the generations to come are able to learn what was never taught to me.

Recently lost a very dear friend of mine. She was a lightpainter and one of the kindest most joyful beings I've come across in my short time on this plane.
I met her through photography when i hosted lightpainting events with friends. She was always willing and enthusiastic to jump in and take part even when we'd do stupid or dangerous shots. She was the constant and willing help to peoples creative visions. So when she began learning to lightpaint, i was more than excited to give back what she'd given to me for so long. I in a sense was just giving her the tools to physicalize what shed been to so so many people i learned.
She had cancer for a long time and it returned a few years ago. As it progressed she was no longer able to come lightpaint with us. As i continued with my own life i would consistently hold my humanitarian events. I'd make it a point to invite her to every one of em. Though she was never in a physical state to make it out, she would always, always donate or support to our cause.
Was incredible to me that even in the deepest periods of her illness she remained a source of support and inspiration to my vision/journey.
This magnificent woman's light was completely undimmable, i mean she would send me inspirational memes while fighting a terminal illness in an effort to cheer ME! up.
Im happy i was able to experience her energy at its brightest. Im happy i was able to create with her. Im happy i have evidence of her brilliance and im happy i can share it with you.

In my years, Ive taken part in an ample amount of protests.
Ive learned that protests build community more than anything. They sound the horns and announce awareness to the ignorant of an injustice or viewpoint. They in essence creates alot of noise for something thats been or being silenced. (Riots are the voice of the unheard -MLK)
But in reality thats not where the actual change takes place. The real change happens after the masses have been activated from that initial spark and begin to support positive causes that have the potential to render the old system useless.
Fighting will never lead to peace but sustained positive acts are the building blocks that make peace a reality.
So the fastest way for social change is to redirect those now activated people towards better solutions.
I personally stopped protesting once i realized that creating and supporting solutions that are already alleviating the problems of our times put me in a mindset of empowerment as opposed to a victimized one.
Once i realized that building the infrastructure for peace is the most powerful solution for hate; i redirected all my energy in this new direction.
To all the night owls, the insomniacs, midnight riders and 3am thrivers.
You're not alone.
Though the nights are silent and cold we find comfort in the peace of being unbothered by the sleeping masses.
The stillness in the atmosphere creates a kind of restless and comforting inspiration that attracts the best ideas in us. Creating in the wee hours of the night is preferable when no one is there to observe your performance in the folds of darkness. We operate differently.
A kind of irregular circadian rhythm in us pounding off beat to that of the early birds. We aren't the best at sunrises, but we thrive come blue hour.
Were the creeps in the dark, the mystery in the night, were whats unseen and un thought of.
Enjoying the other side of the spectrum. Good night.

Amazing how inconceivable something as simple as nature can be.
Religion credits a god for designing this unimaginable scenery.
Science credits living organisms and infinite probabilities in time space and coincidences.
But still nature doesn't care about all that. It just is...
Like time, like life; it just goes on forever uncontrolled.
Very Simple.
Humans on the other hand are complicated creatures. But regardless made of the same mass that made those flowers and put that mountain there.
In that way we become part of the same landscape we admire.
Mother nature give no fucks what shape her creations take.

There is about 1,000 people being housed at Embajadores. They are currently 700 kids living at the shelter. 60% girls and 40% boys. We also want to donate toys to a Haitian encampment located in Tijuana. Our goal is to collect 750 toys. We will be collecting New/lightly used toys and/or monetary funds the purchase of these items. We want to be able to bring smiles and happiness to the children 🥹❤️. This hurts got me in a bad ways, cursing the mistakes, moments I missed and things i shoulda said.
Im somewhere between anger and despair.
My emotions hittin the ends of the spectrum but i can never let bad thoughts linger on the memories of you.
I wont soil our best moments cause of this suffering. though the forked road split us, once we were on it together and inseparable.
No amount of poisoned thinking will ever change what once was beautiful and what we'll both carry in common for life and till death.
