Giana’s connection with horses has run deep, ever since she was born, according to her dad, Ken. Together, Ken and Giana would often go horseback riding to find a calming sense of joy – until a near-fatal brain tumor altered Giana’s life forever. With Dad by her side, Giana had to relearn how to walk, talk and eat. Her wish to go to a dude ranch marked a pivotal moment in their heartbreaking journey – one that brought them closer and launched Giana onto a stronger road to recovery. "Giana put her arms around a horse, and the horse sort of hugged her with its head," says Ken, recalling her wish experience. "Giana started sobbing. I started crying. In partnership with @fanatics and @makeawishamerica , the Dodgers surprised seven Make-A-Wish kids with a once-in-a-lifetime mega wish event at Dodger Stadium yesterday! They participated in two days of activities, including signing a contract to be a Dodger for the day, receiving custom jerseys and their own locker in the clubhouse, throwing out the first pitch and more.
