It seems no matter how much time we have to prepare, nothing can prepare us for profound loss.
@karinbellantoni passed through on Christmas Day, with a full moon to light her ascension. A Christmas angel. My chosen sister, we met in 2001, at a sexy little inn in Palm Springs, where she was bathing topless and reading a book about Kabbalah. Of course, I recognize her as my tribe and we bonded instantly. We never let go. It was like we remembered each other- reattached as sisters for this life (probably past and future lives too.) We were always there for each other’s birthdays, my movie and theater premieres, holidays, life’s big and small moments. We buried her beautiful mom and welcome to my baby boy home. We spent Sundays by the pool, danced at countless concerts, cooked up meals, and ideas. She refereed more than one fight with my husband and I – he loved her too. We shared so much laughter, tearful pillow, talks, and our favorite moments usually included numerous lychee martinis. She was my confidant, my counselor, co-conspirator, and my sons Zia. Our love was easy and our spirits kindred. When faced with a terminal cancer diagnosis, she approached it like she approached everything in life – like the fearless leader and changemaker she was. You see, Karin was a spectacular business coach, with a passion for helping entrepreneurs and business leaders of all kinds, scale up their game: break, old patterns, clear, blockages, and bad behaviors, reframe their view, and strategize their approach to get what they want. Being a “rebel leader“ was and is her trademark. So she approached her grimm prognosis, which she received at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown in NYC, with the same philosophy she taught her thousands of clients; she assessed the situation, reframed her point of view, moved to Laguna in a home she could thrive in, and had her best business year ever-wrote her manifesto leadership book, & saw people she loved. She passed on her own terms, surrounded by us, her chosen family. Now we are left With the space – that still vibrates with her infectiously powerful loving energy. It is surreal. Fly high sissy. I can’t wait to hear from you.
