“Father’s Videotapes” 2024 Tokyo Opening 6月8日 18:00-21:00 Venue @parceltokyo 東京都中央区日本橋馬喰町 2 丁目 2-14 まるかビル 2F 会期:2024年6月7日(金)~2024年7月7日(日) Father’s videotapes is still in customs Haneda airport. #父親的錄影帶仍在羽田機場海關扣押中無法入境 今日は6月2日です。東京にやってきて、「父のビデオテープ」の初の展示会を準備しています。父のHi8ビデオテープには、娯楽や生活の様子が記録されており、展示用に持ち込んでいます。合計42巻あります。 しかし、東京の羽田空港の税関を通過する際、ビデオテープに記された父の手書きのテキストがエロティックなものだと考えられ、税関の職員によってポルノグラフィックな商品として没収されました。また、父の80年代の同性愛者向けの出版物もポルノグラフィックと見なされました。その結果、父のビデオテープは税関に没収され、展示物を持ち出すことができませんでした。 税関の職員はこれらのビデオテープを廃棄することさえ提案しましたが、私はこれが芸術作品であり、父と私の重要な思い出であると訴えました。最終的に税関は物品を没収することに同意しましたが、展示会で展示することはできませんでした。 今展示会で展示されているビデオテープは、税関の問題を受けて再制作されたものです。 「父のビデオテープ」は、初めて展示されたのは台湾で同性婚が合法化された2019年のことでした。そして今、2024年になって初めてアジアの他の国で展示される予定でしたが、入国審査で阻まれ、アジア各国の平等に対する抑圧と同様の経験をしました。 Today is June 2nd. I came to Tokyo to prepare for the first exhibition of ”Father’s Videotapes“ in Tokyo. I brought a total of 42 volumes of my father‘s videotapes recorded on Hi8 tapes for the exhibition. However, when I passed through Tokyo Haneda Airport customs, the customs officials deemed the handwritten texts on the videotapes, which marked various entertainment and life records of my father, as explicit content. They also considered my father’s 1980s gay publications as explicit materials. As a result, they confiscated my father‘s videotapes at customs, effectively preventing me from taking the exhibition materials out of the country. The customs officials even suggested disposing of these videotapes. I pleaded with them, explaining that these are artistic works and important mementos of my father and me. Eventually, the customs agreed to detain the items, but this meant that the videotapes and publications would not be allowed to enter the exhibition venue. The videotapes currently being exhibited at the venue are reproductions I made in response to this customs incident. ”Father’s Videotapes“ was first exhibited in the year when marriage equality was passed in Taiwan, 2019. Now, in 2024, it is the first time ”Father‘s Videotapes“ is being exhibited in other Asian countries, yet it encountered obstacles at the entry checkpoint, resembling the suppression of equality in other Asian countries.

造像計劃 液世 Night World 尺寸 190 x 253 cm #體毛多到夠織成一條毛毯 “ The Temple of Body “ 造像計畫 ｜ 台南場-梵藝術私人美術館 展出時間 ｜1/20-3/29 2024 開幕時間 ｜1/20 17:00 - 20:00 Phantom in Knitting Project. @fineartcenter300 @8bit_textiledesign 裸露一直是一種在文化上精緻而具體的表達。對於酷兒社群而言，裸露也是 一種政治概念:對父權的反叛。透過看到自己的身體，我們開始理解那些強 加於我們身上的男性和女性符號，它們只是社會建構的一部分。 ”我的身體 是一座寺廟“ 是一種顛覆主流價值觀和社會規範的行動。 藝術家以近期透過行為創作的紀實影像，重新構築了織線影像，既是個人家族史 的再現，忠實映照時代的精神圖譜。這次的創作以「體毛多到夠織成一條毛毯」為主題，試圖重新觀看裸露並列於信仰，將身體是為自己得信仰，重新觀看亞洲身體與習俗之間的關係，將影像呈現多元的方式。透過底片、數位、再製、印製等複合媒材影像創作，他試圖將信仰與慾望在離鄉返鄉的過程中交錯並置，如同一條毛毯將這段旅程交織成獨特的藝術敘事。 Nudity has always been a culturally refined and concrete expression. For the queer community, nudity is also a political concept: a rebellion against patriarchal authority. By seeing our own bodies, we come to understand the male and female symbols imposed upon us as a social construct. “My body is a Temple” is an action to subvert mainstream values and societal norms. The artist, through recent documentary images captured in performance art, has reconstructed a woven narrative of personal family history, faithfully reflecting the spiritual tapestry of the times. Centered around the theme ”The Temple of Body,“ this creation aims to reexamine nudity juxtaposed with faith, framing the body as a form of personal belief. It seeks to reconsider the relationship between Asian bodies and traditions, presenting images in diverse ways. Through the use of mixed-media image creation involving film, digital formats, reproduction, and printing, the artist endeavors to intertwine and juxtapose faith and desire throughout the journey of returning home, much like weaving a unique artistic narrative into the fabric of a blanket. #shotoniphone
