We are only $2797 away from our goal! A big thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Our projects are grant and audience funded, meaning every dollar you donate goes directly towards the support of our collaborations and performances. This year's project by Genevieve Carson will premiere on National Women's Equality Day, and we cannot wait to show you the film she is creating on Mashup's dancers. If supporting female identifying artists, collaborations, and meaningful work is important to you, consider donating towards our upcoming film. Link to Donate in Bio.

Each August, MashUp joins forces with female-identifying creative teams, ideological partners, and/or social justice organizations to commemorate National Women’s Equality Day via an artistic project and open discussion. This program provides an opportunity for cross-disciplinary women artists and activists to collaborate, and challenges audiences to examine a current, culturally critical intersectional feminist topic. This year, MashUp is creating a short dance film that provides a layered perspective that explores the intricacies of what it means to mother, inviting audiences to question the evolving definition of motherhood. What constitutes being a mother? Do you have to have children to be a mother? Does motherhood equate to womanhood? What are the experiences of those who mother? This work aims to explore and celebrate the female experience in relation to motherhood in any and all of its expressions. We are aiming to raise an additional $3000 towards the creation and screening of our National Women's Equality Day film. If you can donate any amount towards the project, please do. Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue creating and uplifting these important female narratives and creative voices. Donate at Link in Bio. We are grateful to be working with Genevieve Carson on our upcoming dance film project for National Women's Equality Day. Our theme for the proposals was Motherhood. @carsonvision will be creating a project called 'She-Wolf' with Mashup Dancers. "The truth is : Women are filled with magic. With the inherent knowledge of the universe. The wolf is an animal that trusts its instincts & intuition. It isn't afraid to navigate the world alone, yet it is loyal and fiercely protective of its pack." Genevieve Carson is a Los Angeles-based creative director and choreographer. She builds rich visual and emotional worlds through movement & curated design. Her work has spanned across North America, the Philippines, Argentina, Sweden, and New Zealand.
