White has released two studio albums, Big Inner and Fresh Blood, and two collaboration albums, Gentlewoman, Ruby Man with Flo Morrissey and Broken Mirror: A Selfie Reflection with Lonnie Holley. White is also the founder and a co-owner of Spacebomb, originally conceived as a record label with a house band, and now a multi-disciplinary music company with a studio and offices in Richmond, Virginia. • • • Rest Fest is a celebration of wellness where Richmonders can commune for group classes, speakers, music, local makers, and food. It was born out of a dream to unite an often-siloed wellness community for a day of restoration and connection. Attendees can enjoy a variety of sessions (yoga, breathwork, sound baths, etc.) and live music as well as presentations and panel discussions with local experts on relevant topics.

Pictured: ARP Odyssey reissue, Yamaha CP-70 and Prophet 6. I got the ARP a while ago, the first synth I ever bought, mainly bc I knew Herbie Hancock used it a lot on Headhunters. Everything I know about synths (average amount) started with the ARP, which turns out has a pretty high learning curve. Got it off Craigslist and actually met the guy in a cornfield somewhere north of Fredericksburg. When Big Inner came out and I started touring we were hellbent on using a real piano. So I sold my 88 key rhodes (bad move) and bought the Cp-70 in Baltimore. My dad drove me up there and we got our first taste of moving the thing, v heavy. For two years afterwards @pollardtrey and I hauled that thing everywhere imaginable, into basements, up stairs, through parking lots. Was it worth it? Debatable. Anyhow, it has now landed in the studio, and thankfully is moved infrequently and if so, not far. The Prophet 6 was bought by @spacebomb in the great gear buy of 2017 when we moved to Robinson Street. I personally rarely use it bc I’m a Prophet 8 guy (not pictured) but folks love it. @dejongja even just sourced a really nice pre-sets print-out that is very handy.

The OG Spacebomb mixer. I got this candy-knobbed Kelsey from @lance_koehler in maybe 2008 and recorded and mixed Josh Small’s Juke, the first record recorded in the attic and a proto-Spacebomb record, on this in 2010-ish. @skyway_man was so enthralled with it that he spirited it away to Nashville for a time but when he broke it I bought it back and @repair_planet_rva restored it to its former glory. It currently finds work as a sub-mixer in our drum machine section, allowing us to test sounds of several drum machines effortlessly. Long may she run 🍓🍊🍋🫐🍆🍇 Footnotes: Juke stands up, check it out.
