One of the only reasons I keep fb is because I’m a sucker for the memories it brings up… on this day 14 years ago @reneemichelledaly and I were sitting in a park in Portland, Oregon when we decided to talk to some cool looking people who were playing instruments. Turns out most of them were also from Michigan, and in the band @frontierruckus , along with their friend @sjcrain 🫶 I’ll always love these photographs I made of them with my Mamiya C330.
Remembering the time I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph residents of multiple @merrillgardens retirement communities on medium format film…
“Sometimes I wish I could photosynthesize so that just by being, just by shimmering at the meadow’s edge or floating lazily on a pond, I could be doing the work of the world while standing silent in the sun.” // Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass
15 years ago this week I shot my first roll of 120 film through my newly acquired #mamiyac330 which is the same camera I still use the most today. This was one of the first photographs I made with it, a portrait of my old friend, Natalie, outside of a cafe in Portland, Oregon. The second photo is a polaroid of me and Natalie, made by @wrightmight that same day, right after he gave me the camera that changed my life.
