🌅✨ Welcome to the world of VERTEX, a custom collection created by Nepali designer @tsabinz for his international debut in Sydney. Sabin was kind enough to donate his last hours in Australia by coming to @thegaragephotostudio.sydney and joining forces with this amazing team to create magic. The amount of models who volunteered for this project warms my heart. We were so lucky to have @akiraisola and their stunning energy join us. I plan all of my editorials with time so I am still amazed we managed to achieve these results with just one day of preparation. Fashion, e-commerce, hospital brochures, model portfolios, cars and headshots…what a mess 🤪 Okay I’m exaggerating! Some of my favourite photographers out there (@albertwatsonphotography or @sebastiaosalgadooficial ) were never scared to go outside their niche. As a photographer I always thought my true love was portraits and fashion. But if there’s something these past few years shooting everything from kids birthday parties to real estate, hospital brochures and maternity; is that my real true love is lighting ✨ I really look forward to figuring out how to light a specific scene and I find myself enjoying jobs that I never pictured myself being good at 📸 #sydneyphotographer #sydneyportraitphotographer #femalephotographer #smallbusinessowner

One of the best news any 33 week pregnant lady can get: I still fit in my business pants! 🤪 On another note, my portrait & fashion photography studio @thegaragephotostudio.sydney is a finalist for the @localbusinessawards_ for a second year in a row 📸🥳✨ This amazing organisation analyses everything from revenue, growth, social impact and sustainability. I am really proud that we can count ourselves among the finalists once again, specially in a year in which we decided to expand our family. A huge thanks to my amazing husband Navid who acts as our technical support, and who has always been the biggest supporter of my dreams. ✨Should I hire a professional for my modelling digitals?✨ Let me know your opinion in the comments! 📸 This is a question I get asked again and again. The idea is that digis are such simple shots one could save up the money from the session by just asking a friend to snap them with a phone. The reality is also a lot of photographers don’t offer packages for JUST digitals, making the idea of having to buy an entire modelling portfolio session unappealing if you’re already confident with the one you have. Lastly there’s the fact that just like acting headshots, digis need to be renewed yearly, and the thought of having to spend money every single time is intimidating. ✨MY OPINION AS A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER✨ When models and potential models come to me with this question I always answer the same: just like a professional headshot, you don’t technically need a studio and a photographer to capture them. If you’re lucky enough to have a friend with a decent phone, confidence in your posing and a white wall with clean flattering natural light in the vicinity, go for it! HOWEVER, if that is not the case, a professional photographer can be a lot of help. Personally, I can count with half a hand the number of people who might snap a photo of me that I don’t hate, so it would feel a bit risky to trust them with the images that will determine weather I get hired or not. Lastly, there is also the reality that it’s hard to top the consistency studio lighting can provide together with the difference it makes to have someone with experience helping you with poses. That is why I offer two different options for getting digitals at my studio: booking them for the same price of a basic professional headshot (our smallest package) or by including them at the start of our Model Portfolio Essentials Package. I only press on this second option when the model doesn’t really have a portfolio, as I would like to avoid them having to come back to re book once the agency signs them and instructs them to go and book a photoshoot to complete their portfolios. #modelportfolio #sydneyphotographer #modeldigitals #sydneymodellingagency
