What a great time we all had with @mikemanginiofficial and his great masterclass hosted by my studio @thedrumfort ! One of the greatest compliments for me is when Mike and Todd Sucherman or other artists come to teach these classes is when the drums are dialed in tuning wise and they don’t have to do much to be comfortable. I also used the Ambassador heads (not knowing Mike wanted Emperors) as they are the most resonant heads and sound great on the Pearl Masterworks kit and in the room. Especially since I had never worked with Mike. Thank you to @remopercussion for supporting me and my studio, and big thanks to Mike and @rayluzierkorn for the great interview @sweetwatersound which was filmed the weekend after Mike’s class. What a great month @thedrumfort ! This month the students will be recording drums for an original track written by @conner__hillman one of my Berklee College of Music students. He will also be engineering the projects. We will cover many aspects of recording and apply concepts they’ve worked on in there lessons. I’m excited to see how each student plays there version of the tune! We can all learn so much from these sessions! I still encounter a lot of drummers who seem scared or let ego get in the way of working on techniques that will help make themselves more valuable in all musical situations!
