I’ve been spending time at Lucky B Bison Ranch in Bryan, TX, working on content for my book and I was fortunate enough to attend a private acoustic set by Michael Martin Murphey. I grew up listening to his music and now I have my own portrait. A treasure.
The Large Band and I are officially on the road. Thanks to @jamielenfestey for getting us started in Albuquerque last night. The audience was stellar, as were our special guests @billhearnemusic and Doug Hudson and Russell Fory, from @bandgeckos . The Large Band and I are excited to be in Telluride tonight for the @telluridebluegrassfestival . Riding the bus across West Texas through Marfa, Valentine, and Van Horn to Albuquerque was a great way to ease into road life. I still love to look at the world through its windows. My friend and hero @michaelmartinmurphey puts it all in perspective in one of my favorite songs, West Texas Highway. Thanks, Murph. Thanks, you all, for allowing the Large Band and me to get together and do what we love to do. We look forward to seeing you on the road.
I’ll be joining my friend @michaelmartinmurphey for his Rocking 3M Chuckwagon show in beautiful Red River, New Mexico, this summer on July 6th and July 20th! I hope that you’ll come see us!

Decent harmony singer:) haha.. That’s HIM singing btw!!! At the beginning of this clip he is the singing the end of the verse before my brother starts in on the chorus! We recorded this song a few years back because it’s been a family tradition singing it, starting with my dad and his dad. So we decided we need to produce our own version:) Even actually got the original artist @michaelmartinmurphey to sing on it with us! Really cool😎

Had a BLAST at the Rangeland Wildfire Benefit concert with @lyle_lovett and @michaelmartinmurphey . THANK YOU to everybody who came out to raise money for those impacted by the record-breaking wildfires that scorched much of the Panhandle in March.
