But I eat healthy! Why can’t I lose weight? This is one of the most popular comments that I hear from women over 40 and guess what? I was one of them I was never a skinny kid and it wasn’t until my mid 20’s that I learned how to eat an exercise to get the body I wanted, even after I had kids in my 30’s I was able to lose weight. Then I got into my 40s and I just couldn’t seem to lose weight in fact I was eating less, but I kept gaining and I couldn’t figure out why. It wasn’t until learning about the way my body reacts to different foods and the amount of specific nutrients that I needed and the way I needed to exercise for my body that I finally started to see results. If you finally want your body to transform and you want to do it without constantly dieting drop the word “transform” in the comments.

I love this little appetizer in the summer! I use my immersion blender and throw a big handful of basil in the cup. I add 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup grated pecorino, a pinch of salt, 1 garlic clove, and fresh ground pepper. I blend it up, then spread on thick slices of beefsteak tomato. I put a little fresh mozzarella on top and bake at 425 for 10 minutes, then broil just until the cheese starts to bubble & turns golden! Yum 😋

OK yes it’s summer but this is a super easy soup. That’s very light and kid pleasing! There is very little prep work as everything gets chopped up into large chunks. I used about 2 pounds of tomatoes, about one cup of baby carrots, one red onion, and four whole garlic cloves. Iwith the carrot and onion and let them soften. Then I added the tomatoes and garlic and let them soften a little further. I added a little salt, pepper, and oregano and 2 cups of vegetable stock. Let that all simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Then, throw in a handful of fresh basil 🌿 and get your immersion blender going! Serve with a grilled cheese 🧀!

While I always say get your nutrients from whole foods first, if you are looking for a whey protein as a supplement, I have found my new favorite! Chocolate Cookie Blast tastes like an Oreo milkshake🥤😋 Thanks Vinnie at Carman Drugs for recommending! I like the chocolate peanut butter flavor too, but this was fantastic! And if you don’t live nearby, check out Ryse Loaded protein online!
