You don’t understand. 33 years ago, when Who’s The Boss ended—they told me I would never work again. At that time—most child stars struggled. I held onto the label of “child star” for so long. But I was determined to prove everyone wrong. Not because I loved acting so much—but because—I didn’t know anything else.
I am the luckiest. You have accepted me and have made me feel like I could do anything. And you show up. Over and over again. And you hold me and tell me what has touched you and what you’ve loved. (And what you haven’t!)
I’m so overwhelmed. You’ve filled my bucket this weekend. Every moment of uncertainty that I’ve experienced in my career—or heartache—or hardship—feels like it makes sense. It’s all lead up to this moment. And I’m so appreciative that you still care. All these years later—you care. Thank you.
The relationship between actor and “fan” can be complicated. But I see you. And I thank you…for helping this girl from Brooklyn prove them all wrong and make a good life for my family. We are so fucked. And I know Biden is old—and I don’t agree with all of his policies. But man, if Trump is elected he might get 2 more Supreme Court nominations. The U.S. Supreme Court had the opportunity to make clear that federal law requires access to abortion in an emergency, regardless of a state’s abortion ban — and they chose not to.
They failed us again. This fight isn’t over.
