Today, Trinidadian entertainer Cindy-Ann Boisson introduced an innovative concept: B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Book). This intimate gathering for book enthusiasts is focused on discussing a particular book. As we celebrate Caribbean Heritage Month, highlighting the importance of supporting Caribbean people, the featured book was "Born on an Island: Stories from a Trinidadian Girlhood" by Trinidadian author and former television news presenter, Golda Lee Bruce. The event took place in a cozy home in Sunrise, Florida, and included special guest Mr. Darryl Smith, our Consul for Trade and Investment for North America, and book enthusiasts who joined the discussion. Supporting our local authors is crucial for celebrating and preserving Caribbean heritage. Ms. Boisson plans to host more events like this in the future. Let's continue to support the orange economy and our local authors. Born on an Island: Stories from a Trinidadian Girlhood" can be purchased on Amazon.
Does My Child Need a Psych Educational Assessment?
The goal of the assessment is to evaluate a child’s cognitive ability and academic skills. The child’s behaviors, and socio-emotional functioning are also assessed.
The evaluation is used to determine if the child requires special education services, and to develop recommendations to help the child learn and function in school.
