This was definitely an experience that I will never forget in looking back at my time as Miss Virginia ❤️

Happy Graduation Day to my fellow Flames! I did this Alumni Testimonial with Liberty back in the fall, and it feels fitting to post it in honor of the 50th Anniversary Commencement today. While I never got to experience my own Commencement because of the pandemic, I am grateful that our school is able to celebrate the class of 2022 and 50 years of training Champions for Christ. On my ABC School Tour visit today, one of the classrooms I visited asked if I knew Heather Whitestone, Miss America 1995, because they learned about her in class as someone who overcame adversity as a deaf ballerina and the first deaf Miss America. Witnessing firsthand the impact of the Miss America legacy was deeply inspiring. There’s a reason we call them Forever Miss America’s. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: City of Roanoke, Virginia - Government The Miss Virginia Competition Returns to Roanoke. Miss Virginia 2021 to be crowned June 19 at Berglund Center. The Honorable Mayor Sherman P. Lea Sr., City of Roanoke, and M.C. Gravely, Executive Director of the Miss Virginia Scholarship Organization today announced the return of the Miss Virginia Competition to Roanoke, the event’s previous and longtime host city. The 2021 Miss Virginia Competition will take place June 17-19, 2021 at Berglund Center. Due to the global pandemic, no competition was held in 2020. Candidates from all over the Commonwealth vying for the titles of Miss Virginia and Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Teen will arrive in Roanoke the week of June 14. Preliminary competition is Thursday night, June 17. Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Teen 2021 will be crowned Friday night, June 18. The event culminates with the crowning of Miss Virginia 2021 Saturday night, June 19. Miss Virginia 2021 will advance to the Miss America Competition, which will be broadcast live from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut later this year. The Miss Virginia Scholarship Organization is working with its event partners in Roanoke to plan a safe event for the candidates, their families and supporters, judges, volunteers, and guests. The events will follow guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the Virginia Department of Health, and local experts regarding COVID-19 safety.
