Diese Klanginstallation am Postplatz in Dresden ist vom Künstler Erwin Stache zum Projekt „Mnemosyne - WasserKunstWeg“. Erinnert werden soll hier an einen alten, nun überbauten Bach, den Kaitzbach. Zum ersten Mal kürzlich gesehen bei @solebtdresden und bei erster Gelegenheit ausprobiert. Wirklich schön! Damn, I wish I could read these four beauties all over again for the first time. What exhilarating and funny adventures they have been! Honestly we need more books with elderly people as the main protagonists. Osman writes with such understanding for his characters - for their accumulated experiences, insights, love, loss, stubbornness, humour, pain, naughtiness, cunning and their lust for life. I’ll never look at old people the same again and that’s a good thing. Don’t underestimate them - it’s terribly unkind and even more dangerous. The books have also reminded me of just how much I love reading. Little trip to Paris. We stayed in the Marais quarter, which is really well situated and interesting in itself. Visited the Musée Cluny and said hello to the Lady and the Unicorn, saw an exhibition about Marie Antoinette and family during the revolution at the National Archive („Paper is my friend“ is written in her own hand), enjoyed a lengthy stay at the Louvre and had a change of perspective on a cruise along the Seine. The hot chocolate at the cafe Angeline at the Louvre was something else - thick and very rich, delish. I spontaneously visited a tremendously well set up exhibition about Perfume in the Orient at the Institute of the Arab World. (This was very good comfort after queuing in vain for two hours at Sainte Chapelle with its chaotic entrance system.) Two or three visits of Shakespeare & Company made my to-be-read stack even higher. I honestly thought in advance that this shop is probably overrated but it’s lovely! And bigger inside than I expected. The little cafe next door is not be sniffed at either. Mühlhausen und Rudolstadt - zwei völlig unterschiedliche Schätzchen. Mühlhausen glänzt als guterhaltene mittelalterliche Reichsstadt mit zahllosen wunderbaren Gebäuden, einer begehbaren Wehranlage, Renaissance Rathaussaal und verschiedenen Kirchen; in Rudolstadt statteten wir Schloss Heidecksburg mit seinem umwerfenden Festsaal einen Besuch ab. Das Teehaus im Garten versorgte uns danach im strömenden Regen mit lecker Speis und Trank. Man weiß gar nicht, was man so verpasst. Einen Ausflug nach Wismar gemacht und völlig geflasht von der Hansestadt gewesen. Der Weltkulturerbetitel ist völlig verdient. Altstadt und Hafenviertel erschienen wie zwei verschiedene Welten und doch ergibt alles ein faszinierendes Ganzes.
